INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the Yamaha TX802 FM Tone Generator. The TX802contains 8 independent tone generators in a compact two-space rack-mountablecase, and can produce up to 16-note polyphony. It uses the same sound-producingcircuitry as the DX711 synthesizer and can use voice data created for the popularDX7 synthesizer.

The sheet of Quick Playing Instructions included with the TX802 will tell youhow to tryout the Performance and Voice memories. When you are ready to learnmore, read through this manual page by page.

This manual assumes you know something about MIDI, the world-wide stan­dard interface for digital musical instruments. Supplementary material explainingMIDI is available from Yamaha.
