Letters…

What is the purpose of a letter?

Why do we use them?

The Jolly Postman

The Jolly Postman has a very busy job, delivering cards

and letters to various fairy-tale characters. He has a letter

of apology for the three bears from Goldilocks, a postcard

from Jack for the Giant, a solicitor’s letter on behalf of

Little Red Riding Hood to the wolf who ate Grandma.

Dear Claire,

How are you? I am writing to tell you how much I miss you. I hope you haven’t been too

lonely during lockdown lately, I do love coming to wave at you from down the driveway.

I have been improving my drawing skills while I have not been to school. I have put some

drawings in the envelope along with this letter. Have you learnt anything new recently?

I cannot wait to be able to give you a big hug when we can see each other again.

Love from,

Amy
