In Yellow Quill this last week!!!
The “Socials Barriers to Training and Employment” Certificate program started last week with a group of 8 youth and we have a picture of the participants. Remember to go visit Leonard, Barb and Clarissa for your help with resumes, to check out employment they know about, to explore career paths or to research training and education. Thank you participants and for Training and Education staff for hosting the program. Below left is picture.
The ‘Journey to Healing’ Domestic Violence and Anger Management Certificate Program ended this week
on Wednesday. The seven week (once a week) program presenter was William Crowe-Buffalo and was
hosted by Yellow Quill Health Center CAPP staff member, Lorraine Stone. Prizes were given out and were
awarded as follows; 1st Bruce Whithead, 2nd John Pauchay, 3rd Delbert Machiskinic, 4th Linda Gamble, 5th
Doreen Shumi, 6th Rayleen Shumi, 7th Tyrone Ahpay, 8th Kris Machiskinic, 9th Randy Shumi.
Congratulations on your graduation from the program. Above right is a picture of the group.
The “FASD; From a Caregivers Perspective and STD/HIV/Hep C Information Session” occurred on
Wednesday, March 11 at 5 pm at the Band Hall. There were many band members in attendance, a lot of
great information was shared and learned. And some great prizes were awarded. Winners were as
follows; IPad Mini-Niles Pauchay, (four)$100 Meat Packs-Russell Whithead, Tina Nashacappo, Sylvia
Pauchay, Leona Nippi, (four)$50 Hygiene Care Packs-Tyran Peeace, Yvonne Machiskinic, Stephanie

Mitch Nippi, Miranda Goertz, and (four) T Shirts-Summer Peequaquat, Morningstar Littlecrow, Billie

staff for hosting.

Land Management Law Information Sessions Coming Your Way!!!
Saskatoon has hosted one information session on March 5, 2015. Now, information sessions will occur in Yellow Quill (AT BAND HALL), Edmonton and Calgary. The Regina Session occurred on March 12, 2015. The Lands and Resources Department has a Facebook page under the title ‘Yellow Quill First Nations Lands and Resources’. Day of Healing Numbers of Participants ARE IN!!!!
Many Band Members and Visitors enjoyed the Day Of Healing
Conference. In fact, there were a total of 211 people who
registered by registration form; there were 44 Elders, 60 Youth and
107 adults. There were a number of children under the age of 13
and volunteers who did not need to register. Overall there were
many people in attendance as forms were not a requirement for
the dance, or the comedy show for Band Members.
Thank you to Edna Kishayinew and Pauline Whitehead for all the
coordination. CCC Staff who helped included Roberta Neapetung,
Andrew Kinniewess, Tyrone Peeace, Robin Peeace, Serena Tom,
Darlene Ahpay and Dennis Moose. Thank you to all Band staff who
provided help as well.
Helpers in the kitchen included; Tracy Tom, Val Peequaquat, Ida
Scott, Danessa Whitehead, Phyllis Tony, Sandra Machiskinic. Thank
you’s for helping also go out to Leon Whitehead, Shauna Poorman,
Tammy Quewezance, Sharon Asapace, Lois Windigo, Miranda
Goertz, Darwin Peeace, Steven Peequaquat, Jesse Neapetung,
Trevor Peeace, Tara Kishayinew, Corey Kishayinew, Janice Tony,
Sarah Machiskinic and Ross Machiskinic. Daycare was provided
thanks to the various youth, Larissa Asapace and husband.
Thank you to the Elders who provided prayers; Wilfred Nashacappo, Robert Machiskinic, Raymond Tony,
