WORKSHOP ON YOGA TECHNIQUES
Yoga is gaining popularity as a complementary system of healing and health due to the multidimensional benefits that go beyond just addressing the physical body. Yoga not only offers an insight into how to evolve and maintain a better state of well -being but has emerged as a powerful tool that can help alleviate illnesses that could have its origin in the physiological, psychological and/or emotional aspects.
Al-Ameen College is blessed to have Mr. P.J.Joseph, Naturopath and Yoga Therapist to offer external
mentoring class on 04.03.17 for the first year mentees of WWS Programme.
The experience of trauma affects the entire human organism—body, mind, and spirit—and that is why
the whole organism must be engaged in the healing process. Yoga offers a natural healing process to all
the mentees against physical, emotional and neglect, or any other severe traumas. For these reasons,
Yoga is a promising treatment or adjunctive therapy for addressing the cognitive, emotional, and
physiological symptoms associated with trauma.
The five hour mentoring class promises to reduce stress, create a greater sense of joy, happiness and
enthusiasm, enabled the mentees to experience a higher self-esteem with more confidence and an
increased development of interpersonal skills.
Yoga Therapy is a complementary and holistic health care system that addresses the needs of the mentees through continuous adaptation of its many tools to suit each student’s unique and changing needs. 30 students participated in the workshop.
