You’re on the Cover!You will use your digital editing skills in Photoshop to create a magazine cover including your head shot or body shot.

• Open Photoshop

• File>New>

• Name the image Magazine Cover sized 8.5x11 with a 300 resolution

• Think of an original TITLE for your magazine

• Name the layer BACKGROUND• Add a RECTANGLE to your canvas and

fill with a color

• Add a layer name it TITLE

• Use the text tool to add the title

NOTE: You may NOT use a popular title it must be an ORIGINAL!

• Think of FOUR HEADLINERS use the text tool to add them (See example at the end of title and headliners)

• Use EFFECTS to make all the text stand out

• Save as (your initials)MAGAZINE in your Digital Photography folder

NOTE: Remember to SAVE often while you work!

• Find a minimum of two images and save from the Internet (school appropriate) to edit and merge onto your canvas to emphasis the headliners

• Add either or both your head shot and/or body shot as the largest image on the page

• Include the Date and Price somewhere on your magazine

• Create a barcode (Hint: you might want to draw this using lines)

• Spell check!• Save as Magazine Cover• Export as .jpg • Upload into your Digital Photography folder
