Here to tell you that……

Who am I?

Focused on people

So what went wrong?

It was part of many ‘good practices’ that ….

If the ITIL model for success is followed by DEVOPS….

Guess who has spotted a bandwagon…..

I have a reservation…

Commercial realities set in

with some dubious statistics, and what do we have?

Yea! Though ye humble mainframe

hast been cast out, verily shalt we

pull the wool over the eyes of

yonder gullible citizens and put into

them the fear of failure if they fail to

buy new and bigger product that

shalt be named Anything that isn’t

ITIL’’. For they shall be made

directly responsiblefor destroying

ye ancient ice caps of the Earth

and we shalt be blameless.

Or we blame the Chinese,

whatever.

The ITILites gather to hear that the world needs v 3

And verily, the people do demonstrate fear

Business needs DevOps…

To address lifecycle issues because not everything is

Infrastructure

To reduce costs

To reduce time to get things into production

To talk in a language understood by people

To focus on collaboration

To design things that work not processes that exist only to

exist

Declare DEVOPS the new ITIL

‘Implement’ DEVOPS with technology

Tell everyone DEVOPS will solve all their problems

Provide ‘metrics’ to ‘prove’ how wonderful it all is

Write ‘meaningful’ words about how ‘the business’ has

embraced DEVOPS

Forget how ITIL and COBIT and SOA failed to change the

world

Create a universe of certified ‘experts’…..

Make assumptions that other frameworks are inherently

flawed rather than improperly understood

Make these mistakes….

Thank you!

In the beginning was the word… and the word was ITIL...

NB don’t do this….
