OverviewIn order to overcome your inability to
share videos online, you will learn the following today in YouTube:
• The importance & relevance of an account
• How to create & log onto your account
• How to post videos & make comments in your account
• Finally, demonstrate your knowledge by creating your own account
Goal• Learners will be able to successfully
create and then use their own personal YouTube account, in order to help them be more efficient with their video sharing needs.
Objectives• Be able to access the YouTube website
online through an Internet browser.
• Be able to create your own YouTube account and log onto it.
• Be able to use the features of your YouTube account, which includes posting videos & making comments
What you already know
You might be familiar with:
• Watching videos on TV
• Watching online videos
• Or even viewing YouTube clips
But lets take it one step further byusing your YouTube account
How to Begin• Lets start by opening up your
internet browser and logging onto YouTube
Type “www.youtube.com” in theURL bar at the top of your browser

• Lets start our creation by clicking on the “Create Account” link at the top right of your YouTube page

You will now type in your personal information into the appropriate boxes and then press “I accept” at the bottomBe sure to have correctly keyed in each of the following:1. Email address (ex.
halstebg@yahoo.com)2. Username (ex.halstebg2)3. Location (ex. United States)4. Postal Code (ex. 23005)5. Date of Birth (ex. May 28
1990)6. Gender (click in bubble)

Continue by:1. Choosing a password
(ex. Runner33)2. Retyping that same
password (ex. Runner33)
3. Type the letters in the box as they appear above (ex. Bilitize)
4. Finally click on the Create my new account link

Once you have reached this page, you have successfully completed your account
Logging in Your Account
It is now time to log back into YouTube and press the Sign In link
After Clicking Sign in you will come to the screen on the left, where you will need to type in the following information:1. Username (ex.
halstebg@yahoo.com)2. Password (ex.
Runner33)3. Click on Sign in

Now that you are logged into YouTube, it is time to visit the Channel you created1. Click on your username at the top
right of your screen 2. A drop down window will appear,
where you will select “My Channel”
CongratulationsYou Have an Account
Using Your Account
It is now time to attach a video
Under your Recent Activity Tab in your channel click on “Attach a video”
Next you need to paste a URL to a YouTube video in the window (ex.www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za5cm_rqivo)Finally press post bulletin
You Did It• You now have a video of your choice
on your account• Take a minute to marvel at what you
have accomplished
Using Your Account
It is now time to post a comment on your channel
Simply type in the “add comment” section of your Channel Comments (ex. NFL video is some crazy stuff)Then press Post Comment
Just the Beginning
You have now learned a great deal about a YouTube account. You are able to create your own account, add videos, and make comments.
Even with everything you have learned, you are still only scratching the surface of what YouTube has to offer.
Be encouraged though, you have come a long way and are capable of learning a lot more.
Now It’s Your Turn
It is now time to put all that you have learned into practice.
Your assignment going out from here is to create your own YouTube account, post a video on your account, and leave a comment about that video.

The great thing about your YouTube account is that your never finished.
