How secure are the Oracle Cloud Services?

• Oracle Cloud keeps your data completely isolated from that of other companies.

• Oracle Cloud services also offer market-leading security features – including encryption, virus scan and whitelist support.

• Oracle Cloud data centers offer embassy-grade physical and logical security.

• The services employ management controls, operational controls, and technical controls and are aligned with the security framework of ISO )International Organization for Standardization( and IEC )International Electrotechnical Commission(, specifically ISO/IEC 27002:2005, Code of Practice for Information Security Management and ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standards.

Is PBCS single tenant or multi-tenant?• Essentially, single tenant, in that each tenant gets dedicated, virtualized instance)s( of

their application, ensuring complete data isolation.

• This offers customers a secure environment and the flexibility to individually select an upgrade time and maintenance window for development and production environments separately..

How often is data backed-up? • Server snapshots are taken on a daily basis for recovery and fail over.

• Application data can be backed up by customers on demand using the Application )LifeCycle( Management capabilities within the product.

• This is customer initiated and can be done at frequency and intervals that the customer desires.

Does Oracle Cloud support high availability and disaster recovery?

• Oracle Cloud maintains a redundant and resilient infrastructure in order to maintain high levels of availability and to recover services in the event of a significant disaster or disruption.

• Oracle has designed its cloud services using principles of redundancy and fault-tolerance.

• The Oracle Cloud infrastructure incorporates a comprehensive backup strategy.

• The Oracle Cloud includes redundant capabilities such as power sources, cooling systems, telecommunications services, networking, application domains, data storage, physical and virtual servers, and databases.

Does Oracle Cloud support high availability and disaster recovery?

• Customer data is replicated in physically separate facilities in order to restore full services in the event of a disaster at a primary site. Backup tapes/media are encrypted.

• Oracle has established alternate processing sites to accommodate full operating capability in the event of loss of service at a primary facility. For each Cloud Service, Oracle maintains separate Disaster Recovery Plans that describe detailed recovery procedures.

What comes with PBCS?

• Planning, reporting and integration capabilities of Hyperion Planning are included as part of the Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service including:– Financial Reporting,

– Smart View,

– Shared Services,

– EPM Workspace,

– Calculation Manager,

– Predictive Planning,

– Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition

• Customers are paying for one service per month, not for multiple products. So, we don’t need to call out Essbase, Calc Mgr, Financial Reporting, etc. Everything the customer needs to run Planning is part of the service.

What are some new PBCS capabilities designed specifically for the cloud?

• Application creation wizard,

• Design and run-time governors,

• Video help

How does PBCS integrate with other systems?

• Data and metadata can be integrated into Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service using its data management capabilities )also known as Financial Data Management/FDMEE by Hyperion customers( which provides drill through capabilities for various sources like EBS, SAP, Peoplesoft and JD Edwards.

• Integration is enabled using flat files, and the data load process can be automated.

Is there an upload limit on the size of data file that can be imported?

• There’s a 2 GB limit via the browser , so a File Transfer utility has been created to support transfer of larger files, which means there’s effectively no limit.

Can PBCS integrate with BI repositories like OBIEE (BIFS)?

• Yes It can.

• PBCS has a data export feature which can be used to export the data into any external BI repository.

• This export process can be automated to generate periodic outflows

Will customer have to upgrade their other Hyperion products to 11.1.2.3 to stay in sync with PBCS?

• No. The first release of PBCS supports upgrade from R11.1.2.1 directly into the Cloud based application. So existing customers can upgrade to this release of their on-premises application and then import their application to PBCS.

• The immediate roadmap includes supporting R11.1.2.2 and then R11.1.2.3 for import into PBCS.

What are the capacity requirements?• PBCS customers are supported up to 350 users within one

• Oracle will monitor storage demands, but for now, no plans for more than 150 GB. Typically Planning application sizes are well under 40GB.
