23 September 2010 World Religions An Essay by Ginny Ruadh Religions around the world have shaped history and controlled or been controlled by Monarchs and Rulers. Here are some of the main religions of today: Hindu Buddhist Christianity Muslim Judaism Wicca/Pagan Some of the oldest religions were Egyptian, Greek Roman and Nordic. There were common factors i.e. there was a god or goddess of the sun, sea, underworld / death, farming and a god of the sky. Often the gods were having a war with each other resulting in a very chaotic life for the humans on earth. These old religions are mostly legend owing the Crusades. Everybody who did not convert to their religion was killed and their books and relics were destroyed. Some religions believe in ancestral spirits like the Tribal Religions (African, Aborigines, Native Americans). Others follow a prophet or a teacher like Buddah. Some follow guru’s. World Religions An Essay by Ginny Ruadh

Religions around the world have shaped history and controlled or been controlled

by Monarchs and Rulers.

Here are some of the main religions of today:

Some of the oldest religions were Egyptian, Greek Roman and Nordic. There were

common factors i.e. there was a god or goddess of the sun, sea, underworld /
