Camboon Primary School An Independent Public School Newsletter Specialist Open Afternoon What a fabulous afternoon. Showcasing our specialist areas at Camboon was fantastic. Hearing the choir sing and watching the talent quest finalists was exciting. The awesome variety of art work on display was extremely impressive. Italian work on display showed how students are learning in different and interesting ways. Photos of students engaging in Physical and Health Education also showed the variety of skills students learn. A HUGE thank you to Mrs Ienco, Ms Long and Mrs Bojanich for setting up the afternoon but also for their dedication to our school and students. You do a fantastic job. Are you leaving or going on an extended holiday? If you are leaving for another school, other than year 6 students going into high school, please advise us in writing, advising student name, year level and new school for 2020.

If you are going on an extended holiday and won’t be retuning to school on the first day of school, Monday 3 February 2020, please submit this in writing to the school office, including your child’s name, year level, reason for absence and school start date. This is very important for the school census scheduled in February 2020.

Swimming and Year 6 Camp 2020 Both swimming and the Year 6 camp will be in Term 1 next year. Should you like to get a head start with payments, please see the school office.

IMPORTANT NOTICE re student requirement lists A reminder to parents that the Oxford Maths Book must be purchased for the beginning of the 2020 school year. It comes shrink-wrapped with an assessment book; please DO NOT open the packaging to allow for exchanges if necessary. Please note, this book is not available at general retailers so should be purchased through Campion.

Library All library books are to be returned as soon as possible please.

2020 class lists These will be displayed in the assembly area on Thursday 19

December from 2pm. The class lists have been created based-on current student enrolment numbers for 2020 and are subject to change. Staff spend time creating the lists based on their knowledge of students, taking into account learning needs, behaviour, friendships and social emotional needs. Staff ensure that a range of students are in each class and this allows students opportunities to develop new friendships. All written requests are considered and we ask that parents are supportive and react positively to the class lists. All of our teachers are wonderful teachers and students will still get to play with their friends at recess and lunch times should they not be in the same class. Teaching your child/our students to be resilient and flexible is a vital skill and we ask for your support in accepting our decisions, based on educational needs.

Medication A reminder to parents of students who have medication such as epipens, to please collect these from the office on the last day of school. We do not like to keep these at school over the holiday period.

Lost property The lost property will be placed on display on Friday 13 December for students and parents to have a look through. Whatever is left after the assembly will be either dis-posed of or donated to charity.
