WHY LEARN ABOUT THE MIDDLE AGES?The Middle Ages were a period of birth and growth of ideas, institutions and tools which have become important in our way of life.So many things that we take for granted today come from the Middle Ages – the monarchy, the Christian Church, the ceremony of marriage, parliament and universities.

WHY LEARN ABOUT THE MIDDLE AGES?The period in history that we call the Middle Ages from about 500 CE to 1500 CE. But why? Middle of what? Do you know what the word medieval means?In Latin, Middle Ages is medium aevum, plural medii aevi. If you put these two words together you get mediaevilis which means medieval.

WHERE IS EUROPE?Our world today is divided

into continents. Each continent is a collection of countries surrounded by oceans. Europe includes countries such as France, England, Italy and Greece amongst others.

Australia is an island continent.

The distance between Adelaide to Paris is 16139 kilometres. This is 24 hour plane trip!
