The Objective of the Project:

1- The main objective of this project is to design the water distribution network for Noorshams with the aid of WATERCAD.

2- Solve the problem of quality of water.

Study Area

- Noorshams is located to the east of the city of Tulkarem.

- Noorshams rises about 150 m above mean sea level.

- The area of Noorshams is about 250 dunums.

- Noorshams has a population of about 7063 inhabitants.

WaterCad

WaterCAD is a powerful yet easy to use program that helps engineers design and analyze complex, pressurized piping systems.

Advantages :

1- WaterCAD will help you to analyze multiple time-variable demands at any junction node.

2- WaterCAD provides solutions to model flow valves, pressure reducing valves, pressure sustaining valves, pressure breaking valves and throttle control valves.

Equation Used in WaterCAD

- Hazen-Williams.

Hl = 162.5(Q/C)1.852D-4.87L

- Darcy – weisbach.

Hf = F(L/D)(V2/2g)

- Manning.

Hf = F(L/D)(V2/2g)

Population :

The population of  the Noorshams by the Central Statistics in year 2012 is estimated 7063.

To calculate the growth rate through the equation:--

Pf = 10095

Pp = 7063

i= 1.9%, 1.2%, 1%

n = 10, 10, 5

From these information the population in 2037 is estimated 10095.

Demand:

- The consumption in year 2012 from quastionnaire 90 (L/C.d).

- We increased the consumption in first ten years 4 (L/C.d), and 2 (L/C,d) for the second ten years, 1 (L/C,d) for the last years.

Design Criteria:

- Head pressure should be not more than 100 m, and not less than 10m.

- Maximum velocity should not be greater than 3m/sec, and minimum velocity should not be less than 0.1m/sec.

The Results:The results is acceptable the design criteria, and these result as the following:

-The Pressure:

All the pressure in the pipes is acceptable which range between (1 bar 5.5 bar).

-The velocity:

Most of the velocities are within range, but some nodes in the end of the network are low(0.01m/s), but in general the velocity is acceptable.
