Image- The image is a mid shot of Natasha Bedingfield in very aboriginal clothing and make up, using cream, grey and a small amount of black to distinguish herself from the black plain background.

Text-The text varies in font, there is a weird font used for her name, which reflects her weird style, clothes and make-up in the picture. The second font used for “strip me” is clear and basic, both of these texts are in capital letters. The last text used is quite small, faded, and italic, almost looks as if she has written the words herself.

Colour-The colours used are very plain, black, white, cream and grey. Very similar

colours, yet create an effective cover. The colours used contrast well and create an almost magical effect.

ImageThis is a close up of Jessie J, close up’s are used to show facialexpressions, which shows why Jessie J is pulling a face. Her facegives us an insight to her character, showing that she is fiercewith her mouth expression and the black lipstick, hair, outfit andnails.

Text The text stands out because everything associated with Jessie J is black, the nails, clothes, hair lipstick, heavy eye shadow, howeverthe writing of her name is gold and therefore stands out the most. This shows

the importance of her, as it is her album and the size of it also emphasises her importance.

Colour The lack of colour on this cover shows the importance of her name, showing that

this CD cover is focussed around Jessie J, in comparison to other covers which may focus on a number of things such as central focus on their songs, accessories, outfits and other feathures adding to the Mis-en-scene.

ImageThe image is a close up of Lady Gaga. She is wearing heavy make-up such as eyeliner, mascara and deep red lipstick. Lady Gaga uses her make-up to add to her identity. She portrays herself in the media as quite an original gothic woman with her own unique style that tends to change to suit the mood she is in. This picture with her hair going crazy and her facial expression with the heavy make-up presents her to be wild.

TextThe text is very small and away in the corner which shows the importance of

Lady Gaga herself. Its almost implying that the picture says it all and therefore hardly needs any

words, supporting the saying “a picture speaks a thousand words.”

Colour The picture is all of black and white which makes the red stand out in her lips.

The fact that it is just her lips in colour could suggest Goodwin, with feminist views of Music Video conventions.

Image The image is of Plan B which appears to be on a theatre stage, with his albums name instead on the headline banner of where the normal films showing would be. This gives the effect of Broadway and may be emphasising the fact that he is famous. The fact that darkness surrounds him, yet he appears to be under a spotlight means that heis of importance, as is his album name, which centralises both him and his album in this advertisement.

TextThe text is plain and easy to read. “Plan B” is in the biggest font, showing the importance of him, the second largest font on the Magazine Advertisement is the name of the album which is also important,

compared to the other words on the advertisement including magazine quotes and the fact the album is “The No.1 album out now”.

Colour This magazine advertisement uses three colours, black, white and red. They

contrast well together and a spotlight is used on him, to make him stand out and goes with the headline banner which shows him to be on a stage, now he is in the spotlight too.

Image The image is in black and white. There is no background whichmakes the whole poster seem less busy, therefore clearer to read and understand. It appears that the re is an effect on the background, giving shading to certain areas.

TextThe text is all in the same font, but includes a variation with bothhigher and lower cases being used. The text used is white, which stands out from the dark colours used for the central image, this is used to be eye catching.

Colour There are no colours used other than black, white and various shading

techniques. This can be used as an effective technique because no colours used could be seen as quite unique and unusual, therefore people will be more inclined to remember it.

Image The image of Katie Melua has been edited effectively, by using a programme such as Photoshop, as a spotlight tool has been placed on her face, with her surroundings in darkness, creates an importance of her face, also it looks as though brushes have beenused, to almost give a magical look to the photo.

TextThe text used varies in font size, and whether capitals are used or not. Capital letters are used for her name, to show her importance, however are not used for the album. The magazine advertisement contains a quote from William Orbit about Katie’s personality, which introduces the audience to Katie, even without hearing her music.

ColourThe main colours used are black and white, however colour is used in her

face, this could be saying she is a colourful, bright person, and also creating emphasis on her because it is her album.
