POP MAGAZINE

TitleThe title of this double page spread is based on the artist who is the main image called ‘Carly Rae Jepson’ and the title of this DPS is ‘Carly’s Confessions’ which is alliteration. It rhymes and grabs the attention of the audience. The word ‘Confessions’ sounds very intriguing and makes the reader want to read what this article is about.

BackgroundThe background of this double page spread fits in with the typical colours you would find in a pop magazine which is pink and bits of orange to appeal to it’s target audience . This symbolises fun and adventure which is what the artist Carly Rae Jepson is like. The background colours portray the artists personality.

Main ImageThe main image of this double page spread is of the music artist ‘Carly Rae Jepson’. The Image is on one page of A4 but takes up ¼ of the next A4 page at the bottom which almost suggests to the audience that she has a big personality as usually the image on a double page spread would take up on A4 page or less, but in this case it’s the opposite. The clothes she is wearing represent the issue of this magazine which is summer and the roller blades she has on implies that she is just like any ordinary teenage girl who likes to have fun and experience new adventures.

TextThe text used in this magazine is fairly small so they can fit on all the information they need to. It is in clear handwriting so the consumer will not struggle to read it and all of it is the same size and same font which shows consistency of house style.

Sub-ImagesThe sub-images in this double page spread are pictures of the artist and shows the audience what she does in her free time which is what they want to read about and makes this magazine good value for it’s money

CLASSICAL MAGAZINE

Main ImageThe main image of this double page spread has 4 men dressed up in silver outfits with helmets that resemble reindeers ears. It is very unusual to see this sort of image as a main image on a double page spread but suggests that Classical Music Magazines are weird, wonderful and mysterious. The main image makes you want to find out more about them hence the article, so this main image keeps the attention and focus of the audience.

BackgroundThe background of this double page spread is black with the reflections of the 4 people that are in the main image giving it a back ground colour of silver and black which are the colours you would normally expect to find in classical music magazine.

TextThe text used in this magazine is fairly small so they can fit on all the information they need to. It is in clear handwriting so the consumer will not struggle to read it and all of it is the same size and same font which shows consistency of house style.

Drop CapsThere is Drop Caps used at the start of the article to create more emphasis on the text and what is being said. It almost makes the reader want to read on and keeps there attention.
