ANALYSIS OF EXISTING MAGAZINE TITLES

Page 2: Analysis of Existing Magazine Titles

I really like this logo, because it is simple but unique. The red contrasts with the black background and the white lining of the letters helps to bring out the colour. The font is simple but bold. All of this combined results in a recognisable and eye-catching masthead. The shortness of the name makes it even more recognisable as it is easy to remember and the 3 letters also form ‘enemy’ when spoken aloud.

I like this logo, because it is extremely simple. The Font is always the same on every magazine which makes it easy to recognise. The title colour is always either black or white depending on the darkness of the background; this also makes it easy to identify because we know the font and that the masthead will either be black or white.

This logo is clear and easy to remember. The white ‘Q’ clearly contrasts against the red background and the colours make it eye-catching and easily identifiable. The one letter title also makes this magazine easy to remember and recognise as it is short and simple. On all ‘Q’ magazines, the logo/masthead is in the top left hand corner of the cover. As this is consistent, it makes it easily recognisable and memorable.

I really like this logo as it is more complex than the others. This makes it recognisable as no other magazine has a logo like this. Although the colours are monochrome, they are opposites so they contrast nicely. The rough edges of the font support the indie/rock genre. In addition to the font and colour, not many magazines feature punctuation in their masthead. This adds to the uniqueness of the magazine and makes it more recognisable.
