analysis of preliminary task

ANALYSIS OF
PRELIMINARY TASK;
PRE PRODUCTION
Before starting the preliminary task, a lot of planning was done to make the film.
First task was thinking of a decent setting to film the task. The planning went well
and no problems occurred at early stages. The group I worked with were eager to
complete the tasks so planning was quick & was effective.
Planning the script was hard, because coming up with speech before the situation
happen was very difficult.
As we already knew the aspects we needed to add to film for example, a character
crossing a room, two characters sitting down opposite each other. This made it easier
since there was specifications that was needed to make the task good.
PRODUCTION
An element that went well, was that during each scene we didn’t need to reshoot
that many times. The most times we had to reshoot was twice. Also the group I
worked with were very serious so filming scenes were quick.
As I filmed most of the film, a problem that I faced was the face that the hand
held camera didn’t look as clean as I hoped. This could have been avoided by using
a tripod.
Another problem we faced, was that speech was created on the spot so the
characters were not sure when they should start their part.
POST PRODUCTION
I found editing a very easy process, because I knew were I wanted the
videos before I started. Editing was a long task since it had to look good
so I had to include titles and animation to parts of the clip. Also we had
to cut the ends of the clips for continuity.
A problem I faced whilst editing was that some of the clips moved and
to get them to a precise time was very difficult.
By uploading the task on to youtube it was a long task, since the
computers wouldn’t let us upload it without going through Serif.
