LYRICS:ooohaaah..What is his name? Where is he from? Why is he talking to you for so long?is he a friend on just an acquaintance?..Why is he looking so deep in your eyes?I'm sure the stories his telling are lies, and why do have, to laugh so much with him?..It's another attack of the green-eyed monster, while i'm looking for you, wondering where you are.Does anybody know..that i'm with you?

While you chat, chat, chat.To all the boys and that.Take a deep breath, calm down...So why has he texted and got your number? Why does he say, and does her another? Is he your friend, or something suspicious?Haven't you get any friends who are Ladies? All the men of all ages. Why do you have, to be so close to them?..It's another attack of the green-eyed monster, while i'm looking for you, wondering where you are.Does anybody know..that i'm with you? While you chat, chat, chat.To all the boys and that.

ANALYSIS:• “What is his name? Where is he from? Why is he talking to you for so long? Is he a

friend or just an acquaintance?” – The repetition of interrogatives at the beginning of the song immediate draws attention to the protagonist’s jealousy and possessiveness over his love interest, however it also shows that he has an intimate relationship with her as he is addressing her with the speech – something that would be irrational if he and her were not involved in any form of intimate way. Moreover, he states “I’m with you” which confirms that they are together in some way. In my music video I intend for the protagonist and the girl – his love interest – to be ‘seeing’ each other but they are not exclusive; the protagonist will come across love-struck however the girl will come across disinterested and flirtatious with another student at the college.

• “Why is he looking so deep in your eyes? I’m sure the stories he’s telling are lies, and why do you have, to laugh so much with him?” – Similarly in these lyrics he expresses his annoyance at her for being overly close with someone else. He also tries to belittle the other student in implying that he will be lying to impress her.

ANALYSIS:• “It’s another attack of the green-eyed monster, while I’m looking for you

wondering where you are. Does anybody know.. That I’m with you? While you chat, chat, chat. To all the boys and that. Take a deep breath, calm down.” – These lyrics make up the chorus of the song. It is at this point that the protagonist acknowledges his jealousy through the well known metaphor ‘Green-Eyed Monster’ as a reference to jealousy. The question in the chorus informs the listener that they pair are indeed seeing each other (“Does anybody know that I’m with you?” however her actions seem to suggest that she is less interested in him than he is in her; he confronts this suspicion by asking her if she is hiding their relationship from people. The repetition of the verb ‘chat’ suggests that she is constantly speaking to other boys; the emphasis on ‘chat’ also makes it seem as if the protagonist is perhaps looking into things too deeply. He then tells himself to “take a deep breath” and “calm down” to prevent irrational thinking.

ANALYSIS:• “So why has he texted and got your number? Why does he say and does he

another? Is he a friend or something suspicious? Haven’t you got any friends who are ladies? All the men of all ages. Why do you have to be so close to them?” – Throughout the song the protagonist uses interrogatives; it is unclear whether he is expressing his frustration to himself, alone or whether he is speaking to her directly and so I intend to explore both avenues by showing him on the phone to her as well as speaking to himself in the mirror in my music video. The type of questions he asks undoubtedly confirm his jealousy as he is asking whether her and the other boys are just friends of if he “something suspicious” or ‘more than a friend’.

• The song has no resolution as all of his questions are left unanswered. In order to close the music video and satisfy the viewers with an ending, in my music video he will see her with another boy holding hands whilst leaving college. There will then be a close up of him to explore his emotion after it his suspicions are confirmed.
