In what way does your magazine product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

As you can see my media product doesn't’t challenge conventions compared to the real media products, its actually similar

These are the most common and important development/convention and if you intend to follow them then they have to be involved in your work, as I mention before I followed the convention so most of them it was crucial for me to use. In the end it easily shows when its next to the real magazine.

Deconstruction Eye contact is one of the major part in putting the magazine together because it draws in the audience when they look at it, it gives them a sort of connection with the artist. The job of the cover is to make the targeted audience pick

up the magazine from the rest of the magazine and the picture plays a big part in that. Furthermore if the target audience are not convinced by the cover picture which is unlikely but possible that’s when the cover-lines comes in. The target audience audience might not like the artist on the cover but then sees the cover-lines featuring his favorite artist which the convinces him/her to by the magazine, the idea is to put on the cover anything which might catch the audiences eye but still make the cover look professional/ sophisticated in my case. Like I mentioned above you have to keep

the cover clean but eye catching and part of that is to keep the cover-lines all the on side of the picture and making the background dull so the picture can stand out more. Masthead is also important which is why its magnified but kept at the background.

Contents PageI followed the conventions of a real magazine through out to the contents page as well, I did this by keeping my house style from the cover magazine as you can see the color scheme is still very similar and that’s a big part of maintaining a house style but the convention as well.I didn't’t have to use a lot of pictures on the contents page but I did anyway to give it a professional look.

Contents Page Deconstruction

Contents page is very important because the reader can use it to see what will be in the whole magazine by only

looking at it. This is because the contents page’s job is to provide such information, In addition you can see that my contents page does just that!

That is because I have followed the conventions of a real magazine and in doing so I have gotten closer to producing a similar magazine to the real magazine.

Contents Page FormsO The contents page provides the readers with the

information of the whole magazine and they do so by telling them the page numbers and pictures of what they will find on those pages so they don’t have to look through the whole magazine to find what interests them instead they can jump to the page which interests them the most. All that information is separated into categories to make it easier for the readers to process.

O Such as There are a lot of categories so I searched the most important ones and I found these. Weekly is where you find personal magazine activities like top songs which are picked passed of the magazines opinion.

CategoriesReviews is where they tell you the information and the page numbers of most of the famous artist being featured in the magazine, again this seemed to accure a lot in the real magazines so I thought id use it.

Features is similar to the cover-lines on the cover page except this time it gives the page numbers of where you’ll find the stories being featured. The pictures are really important because they keep the page interesting by preventing the page from looking dull with all the information, furthermore it’s a good way to keep the readers engaged because it shows them the pictures then tells them where to find a page with more pictures of the artists and info.

Article is made up of two things a picture and a lot of information, you can use more picture than one but I have found that while doing Q&A its better to use one dominating picture and the the information on the picture its good to leave a quote often conventional, as for the information part its best to give it a title a website and a age number as well.
