Easy to Learn. Simple to use.

All the essential views of IMARIS, such asslice, section, gallery, and Easy 3D, enablerapid interactive inspection of the data set and are accessible through one primary win-dow. A range of 3D image processing functionsprovides for data enhancement. The powerfulSurpass view allows seamless combination ofIsoSurface, spot, and volume components.Users can easily navigate between a 3D objectand its data properties while maintaining real-time interactivity with large data sets. TheSurpass view features:

Projections. Use real-time, interactive 3D maximum intensity projections (MIP) or alphablending projections.

Object Segmentation and Identification.Automatically identify thousands of objectsusing IsoSurfaces and/or spots (local maxima).

Slicing. Display orthogonal slices that cutthrough the xy, xz, or yz image plane at arbitrary positions.

Clipping. Selectively remove information andreveal internal structures by cutting awaystructures at any angle.

Lighting. Manage color, shading, reflection,and transparency of volume and surfaceobjects in real time.

Key Frame Animation. Create precise, convincing animations for your presentations—from simple rotations to complex fly-throughs.Define a sequence of camera positions (keyframes) that are transformed into a smooth,animated movie.

The Surpass view contains an object list (bottom left),3D view, and object property dialog (top left). Theframe object provides a customizable scale and sizereference. Users have complete control over color,shading, reflection, and transparency.
