New Features in the Next Edition of Our Bulletin!
N ext Sunday, we will be-gin publishing new fea-
tures in our Bulletin. They will focus on important, useful and interesting issues, which many of us are dealing with on a daily basis. It is supposed to be informative, helpful, some-times thought-provoking or
funny. We would like to use the gifts of our parishioner’s expertise, passion, knowledge and will to share with all of us. Our first one-page addition will be moderated by Beth Chi-ariello, who as a professional occupational therapist, will focus on various ideas concern-ing safety at home, at school etc. You may find her tips on e.g. back pack safety for kids or fall prevention for the eld-erly very appropriate and help-ful. Look for them in every first Sunday of the month edi-tion of our Bulletin. At this time we would like to invite you to join us in pub-lishing other features. We are looking for all sorts of help, as short as your recipes, and as elaborate as monthly col-umnists. We hope to have as many new features as it is only possible. By sharing your gifts, hobbies or exper-tise with our community you may not only enrich all of us, but at the same time you may promote your business or services. Pick copies of our publication and have them available at work! Show your customers your dedication to the commu-nity, which can only further validate your great attitude and respectful position. Let our publication help you as well… We would like to expand St. Anastasia Bulletin onto many new sites outside of our church and make our publication reaching out to many residents of neighborhoods.
Join us and experience the ex-citement of being members St. Anastasia Parish! If interested, call Fr. Chris at (718) 631-4454 or email at [email protected] RCIA

Dear Parishioners, Msgr. George J. Ryan Pastor, St. Anastasia Parish
F ather Dara who has been assisting us dur-ing the summer will be returning to Rome next week to continue his doctoral stud-
ies. Once again let me thank him for his priestly ministry, his fellowship with the priests and his presence to our parishioners especially those who are homebound. We wish him well and hope that he will visit us in the future. Father Dara has a priest friend from his Diocese in India who is presently studying communica-tions on the West Coast. He has produced a film on St. Faustina entitled “The Last appeal.” Fr. Dara thought some might be interested in pur-chasing it. Faustina— The Apostle of Divine Mercy Written, Directed and Produced by: Fr. Bala Udumala, M.F.A. It is a 35 minute short film that portrays the story of a peasant girl, Helen whom Jesus has chosen to bring the message of His mercy to mankind in preparation for the Last Day-The Day of Judgment. The drama unfolds through the reve-lations and visions of God to Helen Kowalska. The story of Helen brings vividly to light the struggles she went through in the process of de-livering the message through the humble life of a nun in a convent in Poland at the beginning of the 20th Century. Andrea Syglowski, a young artist of Polish ori-gin has brought Sr. Faustina Kowalska to life again on screen with her astounding perform-ance. Caitlin Moreland plays the role of Sr. Mary to everyone’s delight with her honest, down to earth and impeccable character.
“The Last Appeal” is a compelling message of Divine Mercy for out time that has already touched millions of souls and continues to do so in the Third Millennium bringing hope and spreading love to many. The great legendary of our times, Pope John Paul II has canonized her as the Saint of the New Millennium on April 30, 2000. Fr. Bala ‘s film “The Last Appeal” on the life of St. Faustina , the Apostle of Divine Mercy is available for sale on DVD for $15. Please con-tact Carmen Gonzalez – (310) 679-8983 or email: [email protected]
■ FROM OUR PASTOR, MSGR. RYAN:
BOY SCOUTS
The parish community of St. Anastasia runs a fun and exciting program for boys from the first grade right into fifth grade (when they graduate
into our Boy Scout Troop). The program is open to all boys in the community.
So you and your parents or guardians can make a visit with you (this is a must, both boy
and adult), the Cub Scout Pack has arranged a special night for you to visit. Information about the program, costs, etc, is available. Our boys are active 12 months of the year, even going to summer camp for young boys ... a pool, pirate ship, fort, old western mine, nature center, tur-key and deer, mess hall ... the whole thing (but right across the George Washington Bridge in
Alpine, New Jersey)! Please visit us in Father Smith Hall on Sunday, September 21st, in Father Smith Hall. Further
information is available by calling Tom McGlinchey, Parish Scouting Representative,
at (718) 224-9634. The Cub Scouts will meet in FSH at 6:15 PM.
