Anatomy for Life-Drawing | Term Two, 2015 The human body is a beautiful subject to draw but it can be frustrating if your skills don't yet enable you to put down what you see. Come to this life drawing weekend to learn about bone structure, how to measure proportions and what to do with foreshortening and angles. We will focus on the bone structure of the human body the first day and how to apply that knowledge on the second day, with fun exercises and lots of time with the life models. Content * What does your bone structure look like? (Charcoal and eraser exercise) * Where are the crucial bones on the model? * Stick figures, warm ups, measuring proportions, finding angles * Your skull (silhouette and interior) * Foreshortening, structure of the hands and feet * Pencil shading techniques for drawing the body and the skeleton * Drawing the skeleton (optional) * Making the skull in modelling clay (optional) * Long poses with the model where you can draw, paint, or sculpt as you choose Objectives * Develop an understanding of the bone structure of the human body, especially the skull, feet and hands * Be able to record that learning in some way, whether with a stick figure or fully developed drawing/painting/ sculpture, or something in between Outcomes More confidence in being able to approach a life drawing session Class Type: Weekend Class Tutor: Catherine Hayes June 6 and June 7, 2015 10:00am - 5:00pm Materials cost: Whatever it costs you to obtain what you don't have from the list above.
