Door Locks

Door Locks 2

Ancient egyptian door locks were made out of wood and worked with a key. But modern door locks are made out of metal and works with codes. If we didn’t have door locks, criminals could come into our houses. Our homes would be very exposed.

Papyrus Papyrus is the ancient Egyptian form of paper. It is

made out of strips of the papyrus plant. The strips are wet, and then dried while they are flattened.

Papyrus 2Ancient egyptian papyrus was made thousands of years

earlier than the Chinese version. But nowadays we use whiter paper. We still use plants to make paper. Could there be another way? Without paper we would need to write on rocks. We wouldn’t even be able to read books.

CalendarsAncient Egyptian calendars were very accurate. The

Egyptians divided an year into 12 months of 30 days each. So it would be 360 days in total. An actual year is 365 days, so the Egyptians just missed 5 days! They also invented the leap year system!

Calendars 2 Ancient Egyptian calendars were round, and was drawn on papyrus. There were symbols on the calendars. Without calendars, we wouldn’t be able to tell what time of the year it is, so our schedules would go wrong!

Elite Egyptians! Ancient Egypt is the most greatest civilization because of the fact that they

invented papyrus (paper). They invented it thousands of years before the Chinese! Without paper, we would need to talk to tell stories. And even if we could write, we would need to write on rocks! You should be thankful to the Egyptians! Even the cue card that you are holding is made out of paper! Aren’t Egyptians extremely awesome?
