• HistoryThe Riddler was first shown to the public in 1948 by Dc comics. He is now one of the most well known villains in the batman series. The Riddler is usually shown In a green skin tight spandex suit or a green tuxedo and bowler hat with his trade mark question mark shaped cane. The Riddler is is obsessed in riddles, puzzles and mind games. He is out to prove that he is more superior in intelligence and therefore better then others. This obsession was also his doom; he couldn't stop himself from leaving a clue at every crime scene which Batman would use to foil him. The Riddler was created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang.

bbHistory

We think of the sphinx as Egyption but the sphinx is part of many cultures like southern Asia and even Europe. The sphinx is usually depicted with the head of a beautiful woman, the body of a lion and the wings of a eagle. She is a cunning and merciless killer. Like the Riddler she is also obsessed with riddles and puzzles.

Tale of the sphinx

• The sphinx was sent by the gods to punish the city of Thebes as a punishment for an ancient crime against the gods. The sphinx stalked the the streets preying on youth. If they failed to answer her riddle they would be devoured on the spot. Kingship was offered to who ever could kill this horrible beast. Oidipous took the challenge and set out to kill the monster. Oidipous found the beast. The riddle is on the next slide.

• . Oididpous found the answer which was a man. The sphinx was so sad about this that she is said to have killed her self.
