Page 2: and information? WHAT NEXT?...If you are on the property for any purpose, you are considered to be in breach of your Self-Exclusion. Registration in the program and your commitment

Joining the Self-Exclusion program By registering for the Self-Exclusion program, you are making an important commitment to yourself. For many people in the program, Self-Exclusion has been an important first step toward taking control of their lives.

Information and support are available to help you better understand your commitment. Keep this document close by, along with a copy of your Self-Exclusion form.

“I’ve regained my self esteem. I’ve been able to overcome the problem and feeling good about myself again. I’m not ashamed of who I was, I’m proud of who I’ve become.”

Terry Finn, enrolled in Self-Exclusion program

What are my responsibilities while self-excluded? While enrolled in the Self-Exclusion program, you may not enter any gaming sites in Ontario including restaurants and entertainment venues within the site.

If you are on the property for any purpose, you are considered to be in breach of your Self-Exclusion. Registration in the program and your commitment to stay off any slots, casinos and resort casino site is serious

What happens if I enter a casino property? Should you be detected entering the gaming site during your period of Self-Exclusion you will be escorted from the premises and may be charged with trespassing. You may also be fined and will have time added to the term of your Self-Exclusion. Self-excluded individuals are also not permitted to win prizes. These consequences are intended to deter you from attempting to return to a gaming site.

Although OLG manages the Self-Exclusion program and offers information on how to get help including referrals to professional counsellors, only you can decide to participate fully and to honour your pledge to stay out of the slots or casino site.

How does OLG support my decision? OLG will keep your name on a database of self-excluded people, stop direct marketing material to you, and suspend your player card. These steps are intended to support your choice to stop gambling.

Unless you apply for reinstatement, you will remain registered in the Self-Exclusion program. If you do not wish to re-enter the gaming site, you do not need to contact OLG when your term of self-exclusion ends. You will remain self-excluded.

Because people self-exclude for different reasons, some choose to apply to come back to the gaming sites after their period of Self-Exclusion is completed. Obtaining permission to return to the casino after a period of Self-Exclusion is called “reinstatement.”

If you decide that returning to the gaming site is appropriate for you, you must contact OLG and apply for reinstatement.

I still have questions. How can I find out more? At any point during your Self-Exclusion, you may contact OLG for more information; however, you may not enter a gaming site to do so. Please contact OLG by telephone at 1-800-387-0098.

At the time you enter the program, OLG will record your facial image to help identify you as a self-excluded person. This image will be recorded into a facial recognition database. If you attempt to re-enter a gaming site in Ontario, your image may be captured by cameras and you may be automatically detected by security.
