This degree introduction lays out what you will be studying for your degree, an introduction to the NCH Diploma, how you will be taught, and what qualifications you will receive when you graduate. You will also find your reading list, which has been designed by our faculty, allowing you to get into the mindset of an English with Art History student.

At NCH, we have one of the best staff-to-student ratios in UK higher education, and in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2020, 95% of the College’s students stated that they were satisfied with their programme.

If you have any questions about your programme, you can email your buddy, contact the admissions team, or chat to one of our student ambassadors on UniBuddy!

Best wishes, Anthonia, Brian, David, Hayley, Kinga, Marie-Anne, Mollie and Syed

“I really enjoyed studying English at NCH, especially through the one-to-one tutorial system. The academics are interested in developing you as a person and a critic, which is hugely intellectually stimulating, and they put so much into helping you develop your arguments further. I wouldn’t want to have studied anywhere else.”

Emily Hill, English BA with Philosophy

On 24 February 2020, New College of the Humanities was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP) by Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. This means that the College is now able to award its own degrees.
