Purpose
Data Integrity Overview
• To improve and maintain the integrity and quality of
authorization and clearing data
– Proactively monitor transaction details for all MasterCard
acquirers, processors and issuers across 58 edit checks
– Alert customers that are noncompliant with any Data
Integrity edits
– Provide assistance to understand each noncompliant
issue and reach resolution

Data Integrity Monitoring Programs
Data Integrity Overview
Chip Auth
• 10 Edits
• 0100 message
• Focused on correct inclusion and usage of Chip data elements and validation of Chip-certified acquirers
Chip Clearing
• 5 edits
• 1240 message
• Focused on correct inclusion and usage of Chip data elements and mandatory tags
Chip Debit
• 7 Edits
• 0200 message
• Focused on correct inclusion and usage of Chip data elements and mandatory tags
Issuer Debit
• 2 edits
• 0220 message
• Focused on Issuer approval rates for MoneySend and presence of ARPC
Authorization
• 11 Edits
• 0100 message
• Focused on POS terminal information, AFD, eCommerce, and merchant/card acceptor information
Clearing
• 11 Edits
• 1240 message
• Focused on correlation between the authorization and clearing records, POS terminal information and merchant/card acceptor information
Debit
• 8 edits
• 0200 message
• Focused on POS terminal information and merchant/card acceptor information
Issuer Auth
• 4 edits
• 0110 message
• Focused on Issuer approval rates for MoneySend, ASI and presence of ARPC

Data Integrity Monitoring Edits
Data Integrity Overview
• Edits are used to monitor customer transaction data to
determine if it conforms with the specific data element
requirements
• Program and edit updates are communicated through the
Global Operations Bulletins
• Transactions are not edited real-time
• Edit compliance is calculated on a monthly basis

Monitoring Process
Data Integrity Overview
• Customers must register for Data Integrity Online through
MC Connect
• If an ICA is noncompliant for any edit, the registered users
will receive a noncompliant notification
• Users must log onto Data Integrity Online to view the
Summary or History report to identify the noncompliant
edit(s)
• Transaction samples report is available to view errors that
have failed
• The Data Integrity Monitoring Program Manual is used to
describe each edit in detail

Acquirer Monitoring Tiers

• Data Integrity program has the following monitoring tiers
for acquiring edits
* Below 20,000 transactions monthly is not assessed but still monitored in the program

Issuer Monitoring
Data Integrity Overview
• Compliance threshold is set per edit
• Minimum transactions monitored set per edit
– Ex. ASI APP RT edit is set at 50 minimum transactions and must
approve 50% to pass the edit
• Communication from Issuer is required
• Extension process varies by edit

Assessment Structure
Data Integrity Overview
• Customers must reach compliance percentage by the fix
date provided or assessments will occur
• 60 day grace period is assigned to an edit that becomes
noncompliant. New edits receive 6 months
• Each ICA can be assessed $2500.00 USD per noncompliant
edit monthly until compliance is reached
• The edit must remain compliant for 2 consecutive months to
avoid assessments
• If the edit falls back into noncompliance after 2 consecutive
months, a new fix date will be provided

Extensions
Data Integrity Overview
• Customers can request to extend their 60 days by filling out
an extension request form
• Maximum extension granted is 6 months (ASI edits only 2
months)
• Extension request form, policy and procedures are located
on the ‘Home’ tab in Data Integrity Online. MoneySend
requests should submit a variance form.
• Requests for extensions should be sent to
[email protected] for approval
• Customers must receive a reply from Data Integrity team to
ensure extension has been approved

• Includes both internal and external customers
• Combination of approaches:
– Monthly Customer status calls
– External customer introductory webinars (as requested)
– Participation in customer events (MasterCard
Technologies Tactical Forum)

– Dedicated Data Integrity customer support (phone &
email)
