Why are women dying in such numbers?
• In 2005 an estimated 550,000
annual deaths. • In 2012 the number fell to 287,000. • In 2016, the number rose to
303,000.
The answer…. “Women are not dying because of diseases we cannot treat. They are dying because society decides that they are not worth treating” (Reproductive Health in Emergencies Conference, Kampala, Uganda, June 18th-20th 2008.)

Life for African Mothers: What we do.
• Supply Misoprostol to treat or prevent Post Partum Haemorrhage which kills 100,000 mothers annually.
•Provide medical skills exchange visits by UK midwives to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The Cost per Tablet?
• Misoprostol: 17p per tablet a women would need 3-4 tablets (currently being donated by Pfizer.)
