Angwin EcoVillage
The Angwin EcoVillage is a walkable, mixed-use, mixed-
income 380-unit redevelopment of underutilized land
adjacent to the residential liberal arts Pacific Union
College in the hills above Napa Valley. The EcoVillage is
designed as a small, sustainable addition to the town
of Angwin, creating a new center and supporting the
financial viability of the college.
The EcoVillage has at its heart a Square with a
market, local stores with apartments above, and
an inn. Flanking neighborhoods include a mix of
townhomes, cottages and village houses surrounded
by a community-supported organic farm. Sustainable
initiatives include solar panels on all buildings, recycled
water for irrigation, geothermal pumps for heat, public
shuttle to St. Helena and enhanced walkways and bike
paths to reduce auto trips.
