He holds M.B.B.S. degree from Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore. He is a lung cancer specialist and emphasizes on personalized cancer treatment. Lung Cancer is the second-most commonly diagnosed cancer in both women and men. It is characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells in tissues of lung. If not treated on time, the growth can spread beyond the lung into nearby tissue and eventually other parts of body. Some common symptoms for lung cancer are coughing, shortness of breath and weight loss.

Normally the cells in lung tissue reproduce and develop into healthy lung tissue, but the abnormal cells reproduce rapidly and never grow into lung tissue. As a result, tumors are formed, which disrupt the lung and make it difficult to function properly. Most of lung cancers are related to smoking, though not all smokers develop lung cancer. In fact, nearly 25 percent of lung cancer occurs in individuals who never smoke. However, quitting smoking can reduce a person’s risk of lung cancer (and other cancers) significantly. There are many subtypes of lung cancers, such as Epidermoid carcinoma, Adenocarcinoma, Bronchioalveolar carcinoma, and large cell undifferentiated carcinomas.
