PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNICATIONS
Primarily responsible for developing the Environmental Communications and
Education option. This option broadened the topic area specialties in Agricultural
Communications to more completely reflect the range of specializations within
the college, specifically environmental sciences, and integrated two disciplines --
communications and education -- within a single curriculum design. The
Environmental option was incorporated into a revised Agricultural, Consumer and
Environmental Sciences Communications major.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNICATIONS
Systematically reviewed and revised all courses in the Environmental
Communications sequence of the Environmental Communications and Education
curriculum. Developed seven new courses for environmental communications,
three of which were in the required sequence. Began accepting students into

environmental communications, 1998.
Primary advisor for the Environmental Communication and Education students,
1998-2009.
Developed internship program and job placement program for Environmental
Communications, 2000-2005.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY STUDIES AND OUTREACH
Director of the Community Studies and Outreach program. During the three
years that I was concentration chair, the Community Studies and Outreach
program faculty substantially revised the Ph.D concentration, increasing
enrollment from 1 to 2 students active to 10 (for the 3 year coursework period). .
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY STUDIES
As Director, I oversaw a systematic review of all courses in Community Studies
and Outreach program. The revised program concentration included the
development of additional courses -- Community Development and Community
Mobilization.
