Researched the right to counsel, court appointment of counsel, waiver of counsel, and indigence determinations in juvenile delinquency proceedings both in Colorado and nationally
Designed and implemented 6-week court observation study across Colorado juvenile courtrooms culminating in CJDC’s report Kids without Counsel: Colorado’s Failure to Safeguard Due Process for Children in Juvenile Delinquency Court
Developed materials, memos, and helped secure the attendance of national experts for the legislative interim committee on juvenile defense and subsequent legislative campaign
