YOUTH MINISTRY Youth First Friday (Guy Talk/Girl Talk with Wrap Sessions): March 6th at 7pm, all youth (6th thru 12th Graders) are invit-ed to discuss how to keep your faith with the pressures of being a teenager. This First Friday will include food, conversa-tions and laughter. Youth (High School) Retreat: The 2015 Youth (9th thru 12th Graders) Retreat has been scheduled for April 10-11 at the 4H Center in Chevy Chase, MD. With its roots in Philippians 4:11-13, the retreat's focus, "Christian Maturity” seeks to edify, engage and encourage young believers in Christ. Sign-ups will begin March 9th, and the retreat's cost is $50. Join “Team Elevate”: Help the Youth Ministry (6th– 12th Graders) reach its goal of sponsoring three students to attend the Lott Carey Mission School in Monrovia, Liberia for a year. Place your extra bills and coins in a yellow barrel towards our individual goal of $27. Collection dates are February 15 to May 1, 2015. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.: The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, is providing applications in the Narthex for the 2015 Frederick D. Essex Memorial Scholarships. The applicants must be graduating African American males with at least a 3.0 grade point average from Prince William County or Stafford County high schools. All other pertinent infor-mation is stated in the application.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.: Col-lege scholarship applications from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omi-cron Chi Omega Chapter, are available in the Narthex. Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to selected students who will be attending Historically Black Colleg-es or Universities (HBCUs) and one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a selected student who will be attending a non-HBCU. All other pertinent infor-mation is on the application.
WICA: Scholarship applications from Women In Community Action (WICA) are available in the Narthex for 2015 high school graduates in Prince William Coun-ty and surrounding areas with at least a 3.0 grade point average. These scholar-ships are named in the honor of the founders of WICA: Fannie W. Fitzgerald, Clara L. Harris, and the Late Deloris Hampton and Mary Williams. Other perti-nent information for applicants to follow are on the applications.
National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc.: College scholarship applications from The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Incorporated, are available in the Narthex. Applicants must be African American females with at least a 2.7 grade point average from Prince William County, Stafford County, Manassas, and Manassas City qualify to apply. All other pertinent information is included on the application.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.: Schol-arship applications for the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, are availa-ble for 2015 high school grads who are African Americans with at least a 2.8 grade point average. Applications are in the Narthex by the mailboxes. All other pertinent information is on the applica-tion. Pick up your application today and apply if you qualify.
