I will be attending continuing education

and tacking on some vacation afterwards beginning

June 22. I will be back July 2. ~ Pastor Lyn

Once again, we will be giving away books at

Neighborhood Night Out on August 7. If you have

gently used books - children or adults - and

appropriate for a church to give away - please bring

them to the collection box in the narthex.

Choir rehearsals will resume in August.

Tuesday Breakfast with MJC in Katie’s Kitchen. You

are welcome to come and enjoy breakfast with the

students on Tuesdays at 7 am. Off for July 3.

Text Study Tuesdays at 12:00 noon. All are welcome.

Bring along your lunch.

First Saturday Worship Every 1st Saturday of the

month at 5:30 pm. An informal & interactive worship

experience. July 7 will include a neighborhood prayer

walk.

For safety and security, please stop by the office and

let us know you are on campus. Also, be sure that

outside doors are closed and locked before you leave.

Please use your “soft” voice during and following the

Prelude, as others may be in prayer

and meditation. Thank you.

1st Sunday Care Cupboard

Bring your donations for the Care Cupboard (please

refer to the list for current needs). Donations will be

accepted anytime. Next Care Cupboard date is July 9.

Thursday Morning Bible Study is taking a break for

the months of June and August. Using Protestant

Prayer Beads and making your own prayer bead string

for meditation will be offered July 12, 19 & 26 from

9:30—11:00 am. All ages and genders are welcome!

Sierra-Central San Joaquin Valley Conference Get-

Together—Saturday, July 28 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran

Church in Sugar Pine. See flyer on the table in the

Narthex for more information.

Emanuel Lutheran Care Cupboard

Thank you! Thank you! The 1st Sunday each month

is Care Cupboard Sunday, but donations are

accepted every week. We are currently in need of:

canned meat assortment, peanut butter and jelly,

individual water bottles, fruit drink boxes, and dry

cereal.

Wednesdays @ Emanuel In mid-September, there will be

opportunities of learning, growing, sharing, and enjoying a meal. Please refer to the info sheet on the table in the Narthex for details and projects

Emanuel's Mission Statement:

To Share Christ's Unconditional Love with Everyone

Emanuel has a unique opportunity: to be a special neighbor

to two new residents in our community. Through the miracle

of social media & I believe no small dose of Divine

intervention, we have been asked to befriend two Afghani

refugees (legal immigrants) who are simply in need of A)

friendship and B) a few basic necessities like summer clothing,

small kitchen appliances (toaster) & moral support. You can

read more about this in my article in the July Echoes and come

to church where I will be filling you in as this relationship

progresses. Immediate needs are: Summer men's shirts size

Small, Men's & 30 inch waist shorts/slacks for Murtaza. For

Ezra size Medium Men's shirts & 32 inch waist for shorts/

slacks. These can be used but in good condition. Drop items off

in the office during normal office hours. And pray....

Family Promise

July 22-28 is the next week that Emanuel will host Family Promise. We will have up to four families (14 people), that will arrive at 5 p.m. each day of that week, eat dinner that we provide, sleep and leave by 6 a.m. the next morning. Emanuel is one of a dozen churches, which have partnered to provide support for these young homeless families as they get their lives back together and get into their own homes. They need our help. We need your help. Signup on the chart in the narthex to cover one of the many tasks that make this possible.
