Purchasing • partneredwithotherUCFdepartmentsandSUSinstitutionsin supportoftheBoardofGovernors’SharedServicesInitiative.UCF ledtheSUSinthenumberofsharedsolicitationswithprojected savingsof15.5percentonjanitorialpaperproductsand11.7percent onoverseastravelinsurance. • collaboratedwithnationalconsortiumsandcooperativestobringthe mostcosteffectiveprocurementdealsanddiscountstoUCFand received$3,000inrebates.

University Police • partneredwiththeOrangeCountySheriff’sOfficetoenhancethe safetyoftheareanearcampusthroughtheSNAP(Sector2Noiseand AlcoholPatrol)program.Duringthefirstmonthoftheprogram, SNAPofficersrespondedto112noiseandpartychecks,made235bar andparkinglotchecks,arrestedorissuednoticetoappearsummons for19individuals,andsubmitted11underagedrinkerstoStudent Conduct.Duringthefirsttwomonthsoftheprogramseriousfelonies werereducedby33percentwhencomparedtotheprevioustwo months. • joinedaregionalJointHomicideInvestigativeTeam,whichcombined sevenfull-timeOrlandoPoliceDepartmentdetectiveswithdetectives fromninesmalleragenciestoprovidehigherqualityinvestigative servicestotheUCFcommunity. • partneredwiththeOrangeCountyDrugFreeCoalitionandarealaw enforcementagenciesinnumerousmulti-agencyimpaireddriving enforcementsaturationpatrols,increasingthesafetyofUCFand localroadways.TheUCFPDDUIofficersmade61DUIarrestsand administrativelysuspended36drivers’licensesofunderagedrinkers.

Resource Management • auditedcontractors’GuaranteedMaximumPrices(GMPs),resultingin costsavingsofmorethan$840,198fortheBennettBuildingrenovation, WayneDenschStudentAthleteLeadershipCenter,andGlobalUCF.

Security and Emergency Management • initiatedtheuniversity’sfirstplantogoverntheexpenditureand recoveryoffundsduringemergencies. • received$352,000infederalandstategrantstoupdateindoorMass NotificationSystemsandinstallcamerasincriticalareasoftheuniversity. • partneredwiththeFloridaDivisionofEmergencyManagementto acquire1,603HearoRadios,saving$160,300andexpandingtheUCF ALERTsystem.

UCFCCnegotiatedanagreementtopurchasetheiceskatingrinkforLightUpUCF,resultinginmorethan$180,000ofexpensesavingsoverthenextfouryears.

University Policeprocured$117,047ingrantstosupportcampus-wideinitiativesforpreventioneducationawareness,includingtheVictimofCrimeActGrant($42,302)andtheFloridaDepartmentofHealthSexualViolencePreventionGrant($74,745).

Utilities and Energy Services • participatedinDukeEnergy’sEnergyCostRecoveryrebateprogram, yielding$51,007inelectricalutilityrebates. • achievedanannualenergyreductionof14,930,924kilowatthours (kWh)ofelectricity($1,820,693savings),4,980,910tonhoursof chilledwater($603,033savings),and128,383thermsofnaturalgas, ($88,291savings)throughon-goingcommissioning,automation management,andcapitalreplacement. • reduced80,408,089kWhofelectricity($14,796,642savings), 22,706,623tonhoursofchilledwater($2,751,562savings)and 388,446thermsofnaturalgas($319,529savings)whilereducing sourceenergyby38.1percentfromthe2005-06baseline. • produced,throughtheUCFcombinedheatandpowerplant, 35,909,021kWhofenergy,and1,438,620tonhoursofchilledwater, yieldingasavingsof$2,055,359whileavoiding2,751metrictonsof carbondioxide(CO2)and173metrictonsofSulfurOxide(SOx) emissionintotheatmosphere.

University Police • mandatedtheuseofbodycamerasbyallofitsofficers,enhancing transparencyandaccountability. • usedthelatesttechnologytoinvestigatecomputerandcellphone relatedcrimes,usedcamerasystemstodetectcriminalactivityand solvecases,andsocialmediaanalyticstopredictandtrackcriminal behavior.

Utilities and Energy Servicesdeployedanautomatedmeterdatacollectionenterprisethatcollectsdataformorethan600electric,water,andgasutilitymetersatthemaincampustoexpeditethemonthlyutilitycostrecoverycycleandlessenfleetuseandemissions.

ParkingandTransportationServicespartneredwithTransdev(UCF’scontractedbuscompany)toimplementaGPSsystemandphoneapptotracktheUCFshuttlebusfleet.

Thesystemimprovestheefficiencyofbusoperationsbyprovidingaccountability,dataforscheduleplanning,andrecordssupportingcreditgiventoUCFforinoperableshuttlesandotherserviceinterruptions.
