1. GROWTH SECTORS• Sector Leads

Provide Sector Leads to promote and strengthen our key growth sectors and support initiatives to deliver performance and productivity growth

• New InitiativesSupport for business to adopt digital technology and innovation initiatives such as LCR 4.0; LCR Activate; Made Smarter NW, Health Innovation Exchange

• Primes & Supply ChainsWork with large prime businesses to support cascading of productivity and innovation measures and approaches to supply chains and SMEs

• Productivity NetworksFacilitate events, peer to peer networks and productivity mentors for business in and across sectors

• Tourism BoardContinue to support the growth of our outstanding visitor economy

2. GLOBAL PROMOTION• Liverpool Brand

Support the development and promotion of a clear Liverpool brand that embraces all of the significant assets and capabilities of the City Region

• Online InformationManage a comprehensive repository of information and intelligence on all the City Region’s assets and capabilities making them available online

• Internationalisation Implement the City Region’s Internationalisation Strategy to generate trade and investment leads and opportunities around our core strengths

• Global Diaspora Establish a “Global Network” of City Region diaspora to improve the profile of the City Region and create business opportunities

3. INWARD INVESTMENT• One Front Door

Provide a City Region Investment Service with partners to provide a clear point of access for potential inward investors to the City Region

• Account ManagementDeliver an account management service to prospective investors, utilising the support of all partners and agencies ‘behind the front door’

• Intelligence Coordinate data, information and networks that can provide value add to prospective investors

• Proposals Develop robust preliminary and full proposals for prospective investors in conjunction with partners and transition to LA teams with support

4. BUSINESS GROWTH• Support Mapping

Map, coordinate, evaluate & promote the most effective commercial and funded business support services to start up and scale up a business

• Growth Hub ExpansionExpand the Growth Hub to more intensively engage and support high growth potential businesses and broker them into the most useful services to help sustain and accelerate growth

• Mentoring & Peer NetworksEstablish a network of trained business mentors and peer groups for start up and scale up businesses with partners & providers

• University CollaborationWork closely with Universities, Colleges, businesses and professional services to support spin outs and access to innovation and expertise

5. TALENT DEVELOPMENT• Skills Needs

Work with employers and providers to ensure a clear understanding of the current and future people and skills needs of City Region businesses

• Employer led InitiativesSupport employer led talent development initiatives that result in sustainable employment in key skill shortage areas for local people

• Talent RetentionWork with Universities, Colleges & employers to create placements and employment opportunities in local business to support and retain talent

• Talent MentoringEstablish a talent mentoring programme with employers to match business with local College and University graduates

6. SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS• Careers Hub

Deliver a comprehensive Careers Hub to enable all City Region schools and students to have meaningful interactions with business to provide insight, inspiration and aspiration to students in a structured, coordinated and consistent approach

• Skills & OpportunitiesThrough the Careers Hub enable students to understand the future skills needs and employment opportunities in the local economy and gain insight and experience that inspires educational attainment

• ImpactWork with schools to measure the impact of these initiatives through the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks that lead to better outcomes for students

PARTNERSHIP FUND

• The continued financial support and engagement of partners is essential to enable the Growth Company activity to be delivered

• The Partnership Fund will contribute directly to the delivery activity of the City Region Growth Company

• It will give partners a say in prioritising the use of the fund to support City Region Growth through a Growth Fund Prospectus

• Quarterly Growth Partners meetings to share progress, opportunities to get involved and develop new ideas and initiatives
