Con todos los rumores flotando alrededor, trato de mantenerte al día con lo que realmente está sucediendo en la parroquia. En agosto, un 3er Agustino estará trabajando en la escuela Villanova Prep. Su nombre es el Hermano Barney Johns. Ha estado enseñando en la Escuela Preparatoria St. Augustine en San Diego. El hermano Barney vivirá con el hermano Michael Bube en los dos dormitorios de la escuela apartamento. Fr. Alvin se mudará a dar cabida para el hermano Barney. Fr. Alvin se mudará a la casa parroquial y pagará mensualmente a la parroquia de San Tomás de Aquino. Esta es la manera común Comunidades manejan sus asuntos. THE CALL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD The Twenty-third Psalm, today’s responsorial psalm, is arguably the best known of all the psalms. The

line that reads “Even though I walk in the dark valley / I fear no evil; for you are at my side / with your rod and your staff /

that give me courage” (Psalm 23:4) connects this week’s scriptures to the wonderful story of the road to Emmaus,

which we heard last week. The Lord Jesus, our Good Shep-herd, is constantly at our side. He calls us each by name,

beckoning us into a deeper relationship with him. That call, issued to each of us at the moment of our baptism, carries with it the promise of the Good Shepherd: “I came so that

they might have life and have it more abundant-ly” (John 10:10).

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

Let us pray to the Lord of the harvest who calls men and women to serve him in love.

All glory and praise are yours, God of truth, light of our hearts,

For you guide your people in the ways of holiness.

Help those who follow in the footsteps of Augustine to see you through mutual love and worship and to be servents of your Church as examples that

THIRD AUGUSTINIAN

With all of the rumors floating around, I try to keep you updated with what is really happening in the parish. In August, a 3rd Augustinian will be working at Villanova Prep school. His name is Brother Barney Johns. He has been teaching at St. Augustine High School in San Diego. Brother Barney will be living with Brother Michael Bube in the school’s two bedroom apartment. Fr. Alvin will be moving out to make room for Brother Barney. Fr. Alvin will move into the rectory and pay St Thomas Aquinas Parish monthly rent. This is the common way Augustinian communities handle their affairs. And, the parish certainly needs extra funds as it is not getting enough income to cover routine expenses. The parish is running in the red. Please welcome Fr. Alvin here, and Brother Barney to Ojai, should you see them. We all get together Wednesday evenings for prayer, social and dinner. God bless, Fr. If we can get coverage I will propose to Father Tom that we only have one day Adoration during those four weeks on Friday morning instead of Thursday morning.
