Dear Supporter,

Together we brighten lives. You may never meet the families you

support, or the children you help feed. Or hear the stories of the

lives transformed, dreams realised and futures brightened. But

they have been brightened all the same.

We are pleased to share the highlights of our work during the

2016/2017 fiscal year.

This is what you have made possible.

* 200 children at risk of hunger offered reliable access to food

through school meals and snacks across the past school year.

* Up to 100 children ensured access to food during the summer

months through our annual summer food programme.

* Over 25 families educated in the skills needed to make healthy,

delicious and affordable meals at home.

* over $8,000 invested in educational enrichment for at risk

children.

Message from Chairwoman-

In November of 2016 we delivered “Getting

the Most from your Money” with the help of

Financial Consultant Ralph Lewis. Meal

sponsorship for this evening workshop was kindly

offered through Saucha Conscious Living whilst

Cayman Islands Further Education Centre

allowed us use of their school hall.

Our April 2017 “Cooking Matters” workshop

brought together an eager group of parents and

children ready to have some fun and prepare

some healthy and tasty dishes. Again local and

easily sourced ingredients were the main stay of

the dishes prepared for the evening. Special

thanks to Mise en Place volunteer Chef Julio and

his team from Mise en Place as well as Feed Our

Future volunteer nutritionist Chad Collins who

spoke to the group about the help benefits of the

dishes we prepared. The John Gray High School

kitchen lab was made available to us for this

event.

“Sustainable Eating.” Through Vivo's 'One for

One' promotion held in early 2017 in support of

Feed Our Future, Michele, Teresa and Chef Nod

of Vivo Restaurant were able to share their love

of food with Feed Our Future's Sir John A Cumber

Primary School families at a sustainable eating

dinner workshop in April. A lovely meal of

coconut ceviche and vegan curry was enjoyed

whilst discussing the importance of sustainable

and healthy eating and the benefits of using

locally sourced foods. The Sir John A Cumber

Primary School hall was made available to us for

this workshop.

“Educational Enrichment.” In February of

2017 Feed Our Future undertook a pilot

programme together with George Town Primary

School labeled Education Extra. The pilot was an

extended day program focused on at risk

students which sought to expand the mission of

t h e f o u n d a t i o n b y a d v o c a t i n g f o r

underprivileged children to be educated,

therefore advocating for children's needs

beyond their need to be physically fed, but to be

nourished educationally through access to

specialised services such as literacy, numeracy

music and art, exposing them to a broad range of

learning environments. Whilst still in its

preliminary stages, the initial results of this pilot

demonstrate that reliable access to enrichment

programmes provide for an immediate and

direct benefit to the children involved, with the

potential for far greater results if undertaken on

a consistent and longer-term basis. Feed Our

Future intends to continue to fundraise

specifically for this programme, just as it does

for its meal programmes, with a longer-term

goal being to pilot similar enrichment

programmes in other primary schools with which

we already support and work. The Intertrust

Foundation generously sponsored this pilot.

Feed our Future's life skill workshops are intended to equip the

families we support with the knowledge, skills and tools

required to enable them prepare healthy meals for themselves.

aims to bridge the gap that summer presents for those

children who rely on a subsidised meal at school. This food

programme now in its fourth year is designed to expose

families to healthier food options and to equip them to cook

healthier foods for their children whilst fostering good

habits related to the planning of meals and stretching the

food available to them. Over the 8 to 9 weeks of summer

this programme reach extends up to 100 children. The

success of this programme is only possible through our

partners in this initiative, Foster's Food Fair/IGA and Best

Dressed Chicken. The 2016 A Recipe For Summer

Programme was sponsored by: Greenlight Re, Rotary

Central, Management Plus Ltd. and the Cayman Masonic

Children's Foundation. Rotary Sunrise signed on as the

generous sponsor of Feed Our Future's 2017 summer food

programme - donating $15,000.

Each year established partnerships bloom whilst new initiatives

emerge all serving to advance our impact and community reach.

We appreciate the creative means of community support we are

continually offered. Below is a summary of our favourites.

2016 (July to Dec)

It Takes a Village.Partnerships

Massive Customer Charity Vote

Massive Equipment Rental and Sales Limited's 2016 customer charity vote initiative awarded Feed Our Future $250! That's over just over 40 school meals for a primary school aged child in need of some good fuel to help them thrive.

Rotary Sunrise, Service for a Change

Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise's Dawn Cummings and Frank Balderamos, Jr. together with Lauren's Restaurant served up a delicious three-course meal with funds raised through the patron's generous tips going to benefit programmes of Feed Our Future and Rotary Sunrise.

Rotaract, Ready Set Snack!

Rotaract's inaugural back to school snack drive initiated in 2016 provided Feed Our Future with a healthy stock of snacks to share with the school counselors across the Island with which we work. A little fuel can go along way in helping a child through the school day.

Key Club, Back to School

Thanks to the Key Club of the Cayman Islands a number of children in Feed Our Future's 2016 summer programme received a backpack filled with essential school supplies. The Key Club District Governor for the Cayman Islands' 2016 project was "Feeding our Future" which involves the work that we do in the Cayman community through our school meal and summer food programmes.

Caesar Cocktail Challenge by Stoli

The Caesar Cocktail Challenge presented by Tortuga Rum Company and Stoli raised $1,400 for Feed Our Future's school meal programme with the Island's top bartenders serving up some creative and tasty Caesar cocktails. Feed Our Future's Anthony Lawson worked the event as a judge.

Roz's Bake Sale

Inspired by her mother Candice Thompson Ebanks, granddaughter of respected Caymanian entrepreneur and founder of the Wholesome Bakery, the late Norberg Thompson, Rozalyn used her own baking skills to donate partial proceeds of her bake sales to Feed Our Future, Treasurer Jeana Ebanks.

Centre Pointe Dance Studio, Tutu Class

Feed Our Future collected a kind donation of $450 raised from Centre Pointe Dance Studio's Tutu Week. Thanks to all who sported their tutus in support of Cayman's children.

100 Women Who Care, Cayman Islands

Last October Feed Our Future received a special invitation from a local group of women who form a giving circle – 100 Women Who Care, Cayman Islands – to be one of three charities invited to present at their quarterly meeting and by doing so become eligible to win the donations made on that night. Feed Our Future's Anthony Lawson made the impactful five-minute presentation on our behalf securing a win of just over $18,000!

Halloween Helps Hungry Kids

Through the kindness of the Ruddick family of George Town trick or treaters were invited to make non-monetary donations at the family's annual Halloween celebration. Trick or treaters were asked to bring along a healthy non-perishable food item to drop in the donation box that in turn were donated to Feed Our Future and shared with the families we support.

Campbells, Captives Unchained

A “Captives Unchained Event” hosted by Campbells which consisted of some friendly competition between the Captive Insurers on island allowed the winner of the challenge team possessing the fastest overall time an opportunity to donate CI$1,000 to the charity of their choice. Of the 14 teams competing, Kensington Management Group Ltd., the winners of the event named Feed or Future as their charity of choice.

Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) Thanksgiving Lunch & Bake Sale

Annually, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority promotes the initiative of giving to a charitable organisation or family in need during the Christmas holidays, whereby each Division within the Authority selects a cause to support. In November of 2016 the Insurance Supervision Division voted to donate to Feed Our Future by hosting a Thanksgiving Lunch and Bake Sale at the Elizabethan Square with proceeds from the food and bake sale donated to Feed Our Future.

The Feed Our Future sunglasses cause line launched last December which together with the sales of the Peripheral Foodie sunglasses (and other styles) made available for purchase at the 2017 Cayman Cookout "Rum & Robusto" event raised a generous sum for Feed Our Future. The Feed Our Future sunglass cause line remains on sale, with 50% of the item value going to Feed Our Future.

KPMG Gear Up! Charity Networking Event

DMS Food Drive

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate family and friends and to count our blessings. It is also an opportunity to share and spread some cheer. In this spirit, DMS broadcasting together with Subway hosted 'Operation Hunger' collecting non-perishable food items or grocery vouchers for donation towards a local charity committed to combating hunger. Feed Our Future was a proud recipient of such items.

Project Based Leaning, Cayman International School's Grade 3 Class

As a part of their project based learning the 3rd Grade classes at Cayman International School loaned their support to Feed Our Future by helping to build awareness about our work and the importance of making healthy eating choices. Each Wednesday in November the group hosted a booth at Camana Bay during the Farmers Market where they created awareness for their campaign. In conjunction with this, the group hosted a series of fundraisers at their school, the funds from which were used to buy bags of fresh local produce and eggs from Farmer Clarence which in turn were shared with select Feed Our Future families in advance of the holidays.
