Message from Board President and Executive Director
The Centre is a safe place to help, heal and end child abuse. This means that we put Niagara’s children and youth at the center of all we do by providing a child-focused investigation process and in the aftermath of abuse, support with counseling and programs. Further we undertake outreach to contribute to the prevention of abuse before it begins.
Thispastyearhasbeenfilledwithmanyexamplesofourcommunityvolunteers, donors, staff, board and partners putting their all into fulfillingthisvision.Atthecoreareourpartnersandtheircriticalworkto provide children and youth with a trauma reduced experience in reporting abuse. Surrounding their process is referral and mental health support for children and their families from our counseling partner. Beyond that are the collaborations and projects with other agencies, school boards and community partners to provide arts programs that enhance resilience in young victims and training and education opportunities for colleagues.
Realizing this vision would not be possible without the Centre supporters of all kinds: donors, volunteers, staff, Board and community members who write grants, run fundraising events, make personal financial commitments, pursuegovernmentsupport, represent theCentre and contribute to the legacy program. They provide the financialfueltothiscircleofsupportthatsurroundseachandeverychild and youth who walks through our door. And we thank them for it. Please review our Annual Report and see the faces and efforts of their work in 2017!
