I am honored and proud to share that North Clackamas Schools graduation rates reached an all-time high last year (2014-15). This increase was, in part, the result of many programs focused on student attendance, helping kids keep their credits current, and policies that shifted attention to the needs of each student.
As the graph below demonstrates, both four-year and five-year graduation rates steadily increased and continued to outperform state graduation rates. The four-year graduation rate increased by almost five percentage points this year while the five-year graduation rate also climbed above last year’s rate. The performance of students from traditionally underserved populations continues to improve and the achievement gap continues to narrow.
What the graph does not immediately show is the commitment and dedication of our staff, parents, community and volunteers that are key to this success.
•Nearly 2,000 employees help fulfill our mission through their hard work and passion for our students.
•The steady support and collaboration of our families also play a role in each child’s success. •Our community and volunteers contribute time and resources to help us attain our goals. Last year, almost 7,000 volunteers gave more than 135,000 hours of their time valued at more than $3,000,000. Thank you to everyone involved in making North Clackamas Schools strong.
As each student enters a North Clackamas school, dreams are nurtured, history and cultural heritage are celebrated, love of learning is fostered and educational, physical, emotional and social needs are supported.
The principle of equity goes beyond formal equality where all persons are treated the same. Instead, equity fosters an inclusive and barrier-free environment in which everyone will fully benefit.

The Overall School Rating compares the performance of a school to that of all schools in the state of Oregon. Schools did not receive this rating in 2014 -15. The U.S. Department of Education gave the State of Oregon approval to suspend the assignment of school ratings for one year during the transition from OAKS assessments to the new college and career readiness assessments. According to Oregon Department of Education, report card ratings will resume October 2016.

Annual Report Issue June 2016
How did your education at North Clackamas Schools contribute to your success?I started in North Clackamas Schools as a third grader. I didn’t know anyone and everything was new to me. From day one North Clackamas Schools made me feel like I mattered. From my ELD (English Language Development) teachers, to the office secretaries, and to my classroom teacher, the staff went above and beyond to meet my needs. As I grew older and moved on to high school, North Clackamas offered different elective classes and programs through Sabin-Schellenberg Professional Technical Center that helped me decide the areas I was interested and not interested in to help me select my future career goals.
Do you think other students should look at coming to North Clackamas? If yes, why?Yes, North Clackamas Schools are blessed with various programs and classes that can’t be found anywhere else. Whether you have lived in Oregon your whole life or just moved into the United States, North Clackamas Schools is big enough to offer you the classes and services you need but small enough to give you the attention to meet your needs. The staff at North Clackamas Schools are an amazing team. I have experienced this as a student for 10 years and as an employee (of the District) for five years.
