Qatar Central Securities Depository
Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) was established by
the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) as part of the reforms for the
financial market infrastructure in the state of Qatar. It has been
established for the purpose of risk minimization in post trade
settlements and reduce conflict of interest. QCSD is the only
company licensed by Qatar Financial Market Authority (QFMA) to
provide this services .
Central Security Depositories are of great importance because of
their active role in risk management which reflects positively on
the economy and strengthens the confidence of the investors
and shareholders .

Chairman’s Message
On behalf of me and my colleagues the board of directors, it gives
me great pleasure in presenting the annual report for the year
2019.
During this year, Qatar Central Securities Depository continued
its outstanding performance and development to meet all the
needs of the capital market in the State of Qatar.
QCSD is an active member of The Africa & Middle East
Depositories Association (AMEDA) and approved by the
Association of Global Custodians (AGC). The company also
participate actively in the international meetings and conferences
in order to exchange the experience and improve the services as
well as work on introduce new financial instruments that
contribute in the increase of liquidity in Qatar Financial market.
I’m confident that Qatar Central Securities Depository will
continue to grow and satisfy the needs of capital market in the
state of Qatar.

CEO’s Message
QCSD is pleased to present its annual report for 2019 which
presents Qatar Central Securities Depository, its
achievements since its establishment on 2/1/2014 and its
ambitious development and growth plans to be the cornerstone
of the development of Qatar's capital market. And contribute to
strengthening the status of Qatar regionally and internationally,
in line with the vision of Qatar 2030 under the guidance of His
Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al
Thani.
The main objectives of the company is to ensure the integrity
of the processes of clearing, settlement and depository of
securities and guaranty the participants rights which is been
achieved by the company successfully Also one of the
company’s main objective is to raise the level of customer
services provided for shareholders, investors, the listed
company, company of financial services, custodians and
members by providing largest amount of electronic services to
facilitate the procedures and transactions and save time and
effort by applying the latest technologies in this domain. In
addition, the company is close to provide an advanced call
center to communicate with customers through cooperation
with the government call center.
QCSD has received International Standards Organization
(ISO) Certificate for the Quality Management System and is
currently working on several other international standards.
I ask God Almighty to help us achieve the desired goals to
serve the national economy.

Baladna Company registered on QCSD systems (BLDN)
Baladna Company has been registered on QCSD systems. The
company was added to QCSD systems on 05-Dec-2019 .
QCSD Successfully conducts Business Continuity Plan test
Qatar Central Securities Depository successfully conducted
the quarterly BCP exercise twice during the year of 2019 on:
Friday 15 March 2019
Friday 15 November2019
The test involve moving all critical IT operations and market
participants instrument from the main Data Centre to the
secondary site (DR) and moving back to the primary site.

all listed companies,
The new nominal value for each share is one Qatari Riyal.
Additionally, Qatar Central Securities Depository has completed
the unit split of all Listed ETFs .

Qatar Central Securities Depository increased the capital of Qatar
Insurance Company:
Qatar Central Securities Depository has increased the capital of
Qatar Insurance Company through the private shares issuance
(7,704,258 shares). The updated capital is 326,610,133 shares.
Increase the capital of Zad holding
Qatar Central Securities Depository increased the capital of Zad
holding by adding the shares resulting from the acquisition of
Meeda Company, which equals to 93,105,450 shares. The updated
capital is capital of 236,997,200 shares.
Reduction of Qatar First Bank
Qatar Central Securities Depository Company (QCSD) reduced the
capital of Qatar First Bank by 65%.The updated capital is
700,000,000 shares.
Qatar Central securities Depository launches new Mobile App
Qatar Central Securities Depository announces that it has
launched the New Mobile App (iPhone and Android versions) for
its customers that supports both Arabic and English languages.
The App contains various electronic services that helps investors
to monitor and follow up on his portfolio which will be updated
Online .

Bonus shares of Ahli Bank
Qatar Central Securities Depository deposited bonus shares of
Ahli Bank. The new capital is 2,313,964,780 and the new total
shares is 231,396,478 .
Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company (MPHC) free
incentive shares have been added to the shareholders
Qatar Central Securities Depository announces that Mesaieed
Petrochemical Holding Company (MPHC) free incentive shares
have been added to the shareholders who met the distribution
conditions according to MPHC prospectus.

Current and future projects

Replacement of its core systems:
QCSD is under way to replace its existing post trade operations
systems.
IT Infrastructure :
Another critical strategy which will be executed in line with the
system replacement is the setting up of IT infrastructure including
servers, networking, data center, etc .
Mobile App solution :
QCSD launched the Android and IPhone Version of its mobile
application during the year of 2019
Cash Dividends Distribution :
With the cooperation of the listed companies and banks
operating in Qatar, QCSD intend to develop the project of cash
dividends distribution. The infrastructure and electronic systems
required to implement this project are being processed.
Integration with the Supreme Judiciary Council:
Qatar Central Securities Depository prepared a new system aim
to integrate it with the Supreme Judiciary Council, that will
facilitate the exchange of information to complete transactions.
