2019-20
Esteemed Sir,
It is my privilege to present the glorious history of our institution. Ahir
College, Rewari is one of the oldest colleges in Haryana which was
established in 1945. Hon’ble Rao Birender Singh, Ex. Chief Minister &
Union Agriculture Minister of India articulated his vision of distinctive
institution against the backdrop of regional history and in the context of the
aspirations and needs of contemporary society. His far-sightedness, vision
and distinctive practical approach to life has been imbibed, absorbed and
followed by our enlightened students.
Ahir College has been committed for imparting quality education to all since
its inception in 1945. Let me have the privilege to tell you about the special
features of our college:

Our college also provides students with a rich and vibrant campus life that
gears up their personal growth and support them in their transition to
responsible adulthood in a rapidly changing world. Hence different facilities
in academic, sports and co-curricular activities are provided to boost the
achievements of our students in their respective fields.
The premises of any college campus come into limelight due to the different
glorious performance in academic arena. The success of any educational
institution depends upon the fact how it caters to the need of the masses and
fulfills the aspirations of the society. So our college admits students solely
on the basis of their academic qualifications irrespective of their caste,
colour and creed. The creation of a multi-cultural co-educational academic
community is both a means and an end in the mission of the institution.
In the present session, we have more than 3,000 students enrolled in our
college. We are running Graduate and Post-graduate courses like B.A., B.Sc.
(Med. & Non-Med.), B.Com., B.B.A., B.C.A., and M.Com. The college is
run with the help of capable, highly educated, accountable and dedicated
faculty members whose rigorous and industrious approach is fructified in
achieving the better results than those of university. As I look back, this
academic year (2019-20) has brought many accomplishments. Here, I have
the honour to present the Annual Report of the college before all of you as
follows.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:
Like the previous year, the result of this academic session also proved
much better. Many students of our college secured the positions in
university’s merit list and come up with flying colours in this session which
is a matter of great pride for all of us.
For this, I want to congratulate all the faculty members and the
students for their whole heartedly dedication and spectacular contribution for
such academic achievements. (Annexure-1)
SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS:
Our students create benchmark of excellence not only in academic but
also in the field of sports as we believe in the concept of integrated
development of the individual. This session saw a rich crop of trophies and
shields being harvested by our players and athletes. The various activities
were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Dheeraj Sangwan.
• Our football team(M) got 1st Position in I.G. University, Meerpur
Football Inter College tournament held at Ahir College, Rewari.

• We got 2nd Position in Cricket (M) tournament I.G. University,
Meerpur held at K.L.P. College, Rewari. (Annexure-3)
• Our Two players Rohit S/o Sh. Sher Singh, BA-I, Roll No. 427 &
Ritik S/o Mahender , BA-I, Roll No. 276 played for I.G. University,
Meerpur (Rewari) in All India Krof Ball Championship at
Nagpur(Maharastra)
• Our students Harbhajan & Manish won Gold Medal in Taekwondo
I.G. University, Meerpur (Rewari) on 18/02/2020 & Mayuri made her
claim on Silver Medal in this event .
• Prem S/o Sukhbir from BA-I bearing Roll No. 180 participated in
Fencing National All India Inter University at Jammu (State Bronze
Medal).

We celebrated the month of February of this year as a Sports Month.
In this events almost every students participated.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:
Like previous years we organized " Rao Tula Ram Memorial State Level
Cultural Competition" on 19/09/2019 in the pious memory of Rao Tula Ram
. In this programme, vice-President of our college Management Committee,
Bahan Arti Singh Rao graced the occasion as the Chief Guest . Rao
Raghvendra Singh, General Secretary of our College Management
Committee added the chair to the Programme with his presence. More than
60 participants from 20 Colleges took participation with zest and zeal in
various events. This programme conducted by Dr. Kamlesh Kumari,
Coordinator of Cultural Activities & Sh. Attar Singh, Co- Coordinator of
Cultural Activities. Our students excelled not only in one event but in other
activities also. In this way, our college team won overall trophy but as we
were host, this trophy was awarded to Govt. College, Narnaul.
• Pardeep of BA-II got 2nd position in Poetic Recitation
• Aarzoo of B.Sc.-III made her claim on 3rd Position in the same event
• In Speech our student Arti from BA-III made her hold on 1st Prize
• Pooja from B.Sc.-III won the 3rd Position.
• Vipin from BA-I mesmerized the audience with his performance and
won 3rd Prize in Lok Geet.
Our students participated in University Youth Festival organized by Indira
Gandhi University, Meerpur held from 16/11/2019 to 18/11/2019 and won
3rd Position.
• Bhupender won 1st Position in Bhajan. Shubham got 3rd Position in
Haryanvi Poetic Recitation .
• Aarzoo won 3rd Prize in English Poetic Recitation
• Ankita Sharma made her claim on 2nd Position in Punjabi Poetic
Recitation.
• Our college team won 1st position in Hindi Skit. (Annexure-4)
• 3rd Position in Haryanvi Skit. (Annexure-5)
• Our College team made its claim on 1st Position in Haryanvi
Orchestra. (Annexure-6)
• Our student Hemant got 3rd Position in On the Spot Painting &
Manjeet owned 3rd position in Clay Modeling.

N.C.C.
To sprout up the feeling of patriotism and sacrifice we introduced two
units for cadets of N.C.C. for boys and girls which are working under the
supervision of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar and Prof. Alpna Yadav.
NCC Boys
• Four Cadets attend Army Attachment Camp from 22/09/2019 to
03/10/2019. (Annexure-7)
• Our cadets won Gold & Silver Medal at Govt. College, Shidhrawali,
Gurugram. (Annexure-8)
• Cadets donated blood at Civil Hospital, Rewari on the occasion of
NCC Day i.e. on 24/11/2019.
• Cadet ,Amit Kumar, attended Thal Sena Camp. at Roop Nagar,
Punjab. Only a single cadet was selected from 8 HR Bn, Rewari for
Thal Sena Camp.
• Cadet, Piyush Yadav, represented Group Headquarter , Rohtak in
Best Cadet Competition held at Roop Nagar, Punjab.
• Two cadets Hement & Ravi Sharma attended " Ek Bharat Shersth
Bharat" camp was organized at Ropar, Punjab.
NCC Girls
• Two days camp of Yoga Pragramme was organized from 10/06/2019
to 11/06/2019 and NCC Girl Cadets Participated in that Programme.
• 20th Anniversary of Kargil day 26/07/2019 was celebrated.
• A Nukkad Natak was performed by NCC Girl cadets on the topic of
Pollution Control on 11/07/2019.
• Two of NCC Girl Cadets, Reena & Prateeksha attended " Ek Bharat
Shresth Bharat" ( E.B.S.B.) camp organized in Ropar. In the camp
cadet, Prateeksha won Silver Medal in Drill. Reena won Gold Medal
in Tug of War Competition.
N.S.S.
In our college two units are being run under the flag of NSS 200
Students are enrolled in both units comprising of 100 Students each unit.

These units are working under the supervision of Prof. Renu Yadav and Dr.
Jaibhagwan. Our volunteers participated in various activities which are
mentioned as:-
• In the beginning of the year, after getting enrollment of the
volunteers, an orientation programme was organized.
• 10 Days "Swachh Bharat Summer Internship 2.0" Camp was
organized from 19/07/2020 to 28/07/2020 with the objective of
achieving a clean and open defecation free India.
• NSS Volunteers celebrated "Earth Day" on 22/07/2019 and
participated in Declamation & Poetic Recitation Competition on the
topics, water conservation , Global Warming, save environment &
Importance of health.
• On 01/08/2019, A plantation programme was organized by NSS
Volunteers & planted around 400 trees.
• On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a
Speech and Essay Writing programme was organized on the topic
"Gandhian Thoughts" on 22/08/2019.
• NSS volunteers contributed to make arrangements of live viewing of
the launch of "Fit India Movement" in college campus and took
pledge for incorporating fitness into their daily routine.
• One day camp were organized on 04/08/2019 to create awareness
about cleanliness and 18/09/2019 to create awareness about banning
single use plastic among college students.
• A one day camp was organized on 23/09/2019. In this camp
volunteers paid tribute to "Shaheed Rao Tula Ram".
• On the occasion of 144th birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar
Vallabh bhai Patel, Our Volunteers participated in "Run for Unity"
Programme.
• Our student Chander Soni was selected for Pre-RD Parade in I.G.
university, Meerpur and further participated NSS Pre-RD Parade
Camp organized by NSS Regional directorate, Chandigarh.
• A Seven Days Special Camp was organized by NSS both Unit-I & II
from 18/01/2020 to 24/01/2020 at Bhagwat Bhakti Asharam,
Rampura, Rewari. . (Annexure-9)
• A Blood Donation camp was organized on 12/02/2020 and around 59
Units of Blood were donated by college staff & students.

• A One day NSS Camp was organized on 04/03/2020 with the
objective of maintenance of College Play Ground, Lawn & Parks in
the campus.
WOMEN CELL:
Women Cell of our college is functioning under the supervision of Ms.
Sangeeta Rao. The various activities of this session of the cell are as follows:
• An Extension Lecture was delivered on 30/08/2019 on Women Health
Awareness.
• On 01/10/2019 various events like Speech Competition, Poetic
Recitation and Poster Making Competition were conducted.
• A One Day Workshop on " Kishori Ki Udaan-Desh Ki Shaan"
conducted at Bal Bhawan, Rewari. In this workshop our students
performed very well under the guidance of Mrs. Sangeeta Rao.
• A Mehandi Competition was organized on 17/10/2019. The winners
are Rekha, Class BA-III got position 1st , Jasika, Class BA-III got
position 2nd and Sapna, Class BA-III got position 3rd.
Y.R.C.
In order to inculcate on awareness in the youth of country on the care
of their own health and that of others and foster better friendly relationship
with all without any decimation YRC focuses on organizing various
activities. The activities of Y.R.C. that were carried out during the
session of 2019-20 under the supervision of Ms. Rajani Devi.
An Orientation Programme was held in Audio-Visual Lab. on 30th
September, 2019 .
A First Aid and Home Nursing Training Camp was organized from
7th October, 2019 to 14th October, 2019 in Audio-Visual Lab. The training
was imparted to more than 50 Volunteers by Sh. Om Prakash Gandhi,
Brigade Officer, Indian Red Cross Society, Rewari.
A workshop on sanitation and Hygiene was conducted by YRC on
29/01/2020. In this workshop, Mrs. Samiksha Yadav threw light on various
issues related to aforesaid theme.

Apart from these activities, we tried to utilize YRC Funds in following
ways:-
• An amount of Rs. 43660/- was spent on purchasing of Three Seaters
Steel Chairs for Girls Common Room.
• We purchased Furniture for YRC office.
• We purchased a strature for Dispensary.
• A sum of Rs. 7867/- was spent on Medicine for students in
Dispensary.
In this way other expenses will be shown in (Annexure-10).
LEGAL LITERACY CELL:
The legal literacy cell of the college organizes various competitions with the
objective to bring legal awareness among the students and to educate them
about their rights, benefits and privileges guaranteed by social welfare
legislation. Different competitions organized under the supervision of Ms.
Alpna Yadav this cell are as follows:
• An Extension Lecture was delivered by Rajbir Yadav on "Anti
Ragging" on 18/09/2019.
• On 30/09/2019 various activities like Poetic Recitation, Speech and
Debate were conducted on various issues.
• On 05/11/2019 Essay Writing Competition, Slogan Writing
Competition, Painting and Power Point Presentation were organized.
Many students participated in these events.
PLACEMENT CELL:
• Two students of BCA dept got placement in Infosys during the session
2018-19. Dhiksha is working at present in Mysore as Operation
Executive and Akash Dhayani is working in Mohali as Operation
Executive.
ECO-CLUB:
A tree plantation drive under the banner of " Go Green" was organized by
Eco Club to crate awareness about the plantation of trees around us. The
programme was inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister Rao Inderjit Singh,
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Statistics and Programme
Implementation, Govt. Of India by planting a sapling along with Dr. S. K.

Ghakar, Vice-Chancellor, I.G. University, Meerpur. The drive was continued
with the efforts of Bahan Arti Singh Rao, Bahan Bharati Singh Rao, Kr.
Surya Uday Singh, Kr. Raghvendra Singh & Sh. Om Parkash Yadav,
Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Government of
Haryana.
NAAC:
The prime tasks of the NAAC are:
1. To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic
improvement in the overall performance of institution.
2. To channelize all efforts and measures of the institution towards
promoting its holistic academic excellence.
The Cell has been functioning as an integral part of our Academic and
Administrative activities.
FINANCIAL AID:
Our students are also provided with financial aid in the form of
scholarships purely on the basis their achievements in the fields of
academics, sports & cultural activities.
Scholarship – Our College is providing scholarships such as Merit
Scholarship, R.K. Funds, Red Cross Fund, Poor Boys fund & Amalgamated
fund., Post Matric (SC & BC) scholarship. 294 Students were awarded Post
Matric (SC & BC) scholarship.
DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES:
In our college different Departments are performing very well by
organizing various curricular as well as co-curricular activities for the
upliftment of our students. The activities that took place during the session

Language Lab. under the supervision of Mrs. Rajani Devi.

A quiz contest was organized on 09/11/2019 in e-Language Lab.
based on grammatical topics such as : Noun, Pronoun , Proverbs,
Adjectives, Subject-Verb-Concord , One Word Substitution, Antonyms-
Synonyms etc. under the guidance of Mrs. Rajani Devi.
Team C won the 1st Position and the 2nd position was owned by Team
B(Annexure-11)
.
• Aarzoo, a student of B.Sc.-III Year , won the 3rd Position in Youth
Festival in English Poem Recitation.
Dept. of Hindi
Hindi Department of our college celebrated " Hindi Pakhwada" from
03/09/2019 to 12/09/2019. Various activities were conducted during this
period under the guidance of Dr. Kamlesh Kumari .
• On 03/09/2019, Hindi Poetic Recitation and Slogan Writing events
took place in which Arti from BA-III, Vipin from BA-I and Aarzoo
from B.Sc.-III won 1st Position in Poetic Recitation.
• In slogan Writing, Poonam from BA-III got 1st Position, Rekha from
BA-III got 2nd Position and Komal got 3rd Position.
• Speech Competition was organized on 05/09/2019, in this event,
Chand Ram won the 1st Position, Pratiksha from BA-III got the 2nd
Position and Deepak Sharma from B.Sc.-I (Med.) got 3rd position.
• On 06/09/2019, an Essay Writing Competition was organized in
which Archana from BA-II owned 1st position, Poonam from BA-III
got 2nd Position and Rekha from BA-III won 3rd Position.
• On 09/11/2019, Debate was organized, Pratiksha from BA-III owned
1st position for putting for the Motion and Chand Ram got 2nd
position . Arti from BA-III expressed her thoughts against the Motion

and won 1st Position and 2nd position was owned by Archana from
BA-III. On 11/09/2019,
• A Literary Quiz Contest was organized. Team 'A' won 1st position
and 2nd Position went to team 'B'. (Annexure-12)
• On 12/09/2019, an Extension Lecture was delivered by Prof.
Ramsajan Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Baba Mast Nath University,
Rohtak.
• On 11/11/2019 was celebrated as national Education Day. On this
occasion, a Slogan Writing, Essay Writing competition was
conducted. The topic of the competition was 'Importance of
Education.
Dept. of History
• History Department of our college organized a Inter College Quiz
Contest on 19/10/2019 in which 10 teams participated. (Annexure-
13)
• We organized a One Day Historical Tour on 11/02/2020 at Alwar &
Sariska in which 60 students enjoyed the tour.
Dept. of Political Science
• Constitution day was celebrated by department of political science. All
students and staff member of college participate in the constitution day
program. The program was held on 26 Nov 2019 on the occasion of
Indian constitution 70th Birth Anniversary. The oath of Preamble
was taken by everyone.
• An Essay Writing competition was organized by Department of
Political Science. On the occasion of 70th Birth Anniversary of Indian
constitution. Topic of Essay writing competition was "Importance of
Fundamental Duties" many students participated in competition.
• Group discussion was held any one day in every month. Different
students of Political Science participated in the group discussion.

• On 25/09/2019 an industrial / educational visit was organized by
Dept. of Commerce in Safexpress Logistic Company.
• On 07/10/2019 an extension lecture was delivered in Dept. of
Commerce by Dr. Pinki from I.G. University, Meerpur (Rewari) on
current affairs in commerce.
• On 11/10/2019 a State Level Speech competition was organized by
the Haryana State Co-operative Development Federation Ltd. In
Dept. of Commerce.
• Inter College Quiz Contest was organized by Dept. of Commerce on
22/10/2019.
• On 09/11/2019 an extension lecture was delivered by Mr. Manish
Kumar (H.R. Manager) on professionalism that benefitted the
students to start up an organization and to increase the number of the
job creators rather than job seekers.
Dept. of Chemistry
• Intra College Science Exhibition was organized on 27/01/2020 &
position holder teams further participate in State Level Science
Exhibition held at Govt. College for Women, Rewari on 29/01/2020.

Manisha B.Sc.- III(NM) 1516120011 of Rayon Fibers.
• Inter Class Science quiz competition was organized on 18/02/2020 .

Dept. of Physics
• The students participated in the District Level Degree College
Science Project Exhibition held at RPS Degree college, Balana,
Mohindergarh on 05/10/2019. They got 3rd position. The students
names are Pawan Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Naveen Kumar (B.Sc.-
III).
• The students participated in Intra College Science and Geography
Exhibition organized on 27/01/2020. The winning team participated

in Inter District Science Exhibition organized at Govt. College for
Women, Rewari on 29/01/2020.
Dept. of Botany
• A field visit was organized for the students of Botany Department to
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rampura, Rewari on 22/10/2019 to get
training on vermicomposting, water and solid testing . They attended
a workshop on proper use of fertilizer after testing of soil. Study of
local plants and xenophytn was also conducted.
• Botany Science Exhibition was organized in the Department on
27/01/2020. Students prepared and exhibited models in various fields
of Botany. Kartik and Sajan , B.Sc.-1st Year secured 1st Position for
their model on Genetic Engg. for the benefit of mankind . Pooja &
Renuka, B.Sc.-IIIrd Year got 2nd Position for their model on
Biorenediation. Kriti & Bharti , B.Sc.-IInd Year ; Priyanka & Rajpal
Sain, B.Sc. -1st Year were given consolation prizes.
• A science Quiz was schedules to be organized on 18/02/2020.
Dept. of Mathematics
• In order to present concepts in broad spectrum , the department
conducted Practical classes for BA/B.Sc. students illustrated various
formulae by using Programming in C Language.
• One of the important activities includes Problem Solving in classes via
Group Discussion which helps in solving difficult problems and
clearing doubts and grasping concepts.
• In order to build confidence among students and let them know about
their mistakes and how to overcome those mistakes, Regular Tests and
Assignments have been given to students. The assignments have been
followed by viva-voce examinations.
FUTURE PLANS:
We are an academic community that is proud of our past and invigorated
with optimism about the future we will create.

In addition, we will try our best to provide ideal and value based
education to our young scholars in the true spirit of our ancient cultural
heritage combined with a modern outlook. It is our constant endeavor to
modernize the system facilitating congenial working environment to
impart quality education to produce potential students to face the
challenges of globalization in 21th century.
