Celebrating the 28th year of Promoting ExcellenceNorth South Foundation (NSF) is run by volunteers. In order to sustain and grow, we need certain values that we all believe in and abide by. They provide the common bond connecting all of us to act together in unison with a common vision to achieve the seemingly unachievable.
Consistent with our service motive, our core values are:• Workforacause, notforapplause.• Livelifetoexpress, nottoimpress.• Don’tstrivetomakeyourpresencenoticed, justmakeyourabsencefelt.
Consistent with our core values, our core beliefs are:• Thereisgoodnessineveryhumanbeing.• Thetruetestofgoodnessisdoinggoodforothers.• Bethebestyoucanbeindoinggood.• Collectivegoodnesscanredresssufferinginsociety.• Volunteer-runorganizationswithoutpayrollcansustain,grow,andberelevant.
The table below highlights some of the NSF accomplishments, primarily in numerical terms.

Structured Learning for ChildrenStructuredLearningisanewinitiativebeingintroducedtoNSFchildren.Despitetheprepara-tion section we have posted for each contest, some parents seem to feel it is not adequate. So we areprovidingaweek-to-weekstudyguidealongwithaspecificreferencetoabook(s)orsourcefrom where parents can acquire material. Thisself-studyguidewill giveanopportunity toparents to secure thematerial andprovideguidancetotheirchildrenonaweek-to-weekbasis. Insteadofsolvingtheirchildren’sprob-lems, they should help them to solve their own problems. The material will be consistent with the syllabus, which may be above that of a regular public school. Our goal is to help improve children’s skill level tomatchor exceed international standardsby8th grade. The self-helpguide isafirststep in layingtherungsona ladder toreachout to thegoalpost.
