I am extremely pleased to announce the launch of the third Social Responsibility Report of SIVECO Romania. We have

made a usual commitment from the annual evaluation of our company activity from the economic, social and environmental point of view, being aware that this effort helps us analyze objectively what we have done in the previous year and the things we have to carry out further on.

We are thus joining large international companies who have made an obligation from the

triple non-financial reporting, knowing that transparency and easy access to information on the economic, social and environmental performances of a company are vital.

For SIVECO Romania, the year 2010 has been the year of international projects and of projects funded

from European funds as well. SIVECO Romania has achieved an increase of the general turnover by 20% compared to 2009 and has concluded over 100 new contracts, which represents an absolutely outstanding performance. We consider we were striking a positive balance sheet, extremely encouraging for our activity in a more than complicated year. It is one more proof that bid efforts are rewarded and that in a crisis also lay opportunities which one can and has to take advantage of. In 2010, we have continued to successfully apply the strategy of targeting the emerging external markets.

Relevance, efficiency, efficacy, impact and sustainability are key words for the projects we are running,

projects stimulating the economic and social development. Irrespective of the economic context, we remain an active supporter of social responsibility policies,

either when we refer to carrying out IT products that would carefully manage the organizations resources or to the action of supporting various social campaigns.

Our contribution to the development of society is given by the projects we run in Romania, and for organizations of

the European Union, in Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Moldova, Belarus, Oman, Bahrain, Cyprus and Macedonia, projects with a strong social component, dedicated to teachers, pupils, students, employees from various public and private organizations.

We are confident that in 2011 as well we will provide solutions with a positive impact in society, aligning

ourselves to the expectations and needs of our customers, investors, employees, partners and the community.

Despite a relatively difficult general situation, our company has continued its strategy assumed five years ago, namely the extension of its presence on the international market, of accessing projects funded from European funds, of preserving a balanced contribution of the income sources between the large and smaller projects, between internal and international projects, between various economic sectors. As a result, the revenue reported for 2010 reached 60 Million EURO.

In 2010, the ratio of income coming from projects contracted directly by SIVECO Romania with public institutions was of approximately 27% from Romania and 18% from abroad.

“Our development strategy is based on keeping the balance between income sources, which allows for minimizing the risks coming from focusing on certain segments - public or private, internally or internationally. This strategy has proved to be a very wise one, given the conditions of a relatively hostile economic environment, of a shrinking internal market and of delay in

launching some public projects. As a priority, according to the strategy already built 5 years ago, we have focused on developing international businesses, the annual growth pace in this segment being of some 25%”, has stated Irina Socol, President and CEO SIVECO Romania.

Market share: According to the study carried out in 2010 by International Data Corp (IDC), SIVECO Romania ranks first on the market of software support and installation (11%) and also on the IT training and education market (21.3%). SIVECO Romania is placed on top positions in the custom software applications market (12%) and is the software integrators market as well as (14.4%). On the local EAS market, SIVECO Romania holds a 21.2% market share, being the leader of Romanian software houses providers of business solutions. On the IT services market, SIVECO Romania holds an 8% market share.

In 2010 too, we have continued to get actively involved in the society life, both by means of the projects for introducing IT, and also through the social actions initiated at the company level.

We support businesswomen!

The young aspirants to the entrepreneur status can count on our business advice! We know to do business and we are ready anytime to support the women wishing a successful career. As member of the exclusive Business Women’s Club "Financiarul", Irina Socol, President and CEO of SIVECO Romania, along with other 11 ladies in the club, managers of successful businesses, have participated in the first edition of the competition initiated by the daily Financiarul -"The 50,000 euro March token".

The competition has been dedicated to young entrepreneurs, under 35 y-os, who want to start a business. 85 business projects have been registered in the competition, project evaluated by the Business Women’s Club "Financiarul", launched in 2009 through a generous initiative. 12 famous ladies from the Romanian business (Bianca Dordea - BRD-GSG, Georgeta Şerban - Gral Medical, Rodica Sfâca - Ronex Prod, Cristina Bâtlan - Musette, Rucsandra Hurezeanu - Ivatherm, Dana Jianu - ProEstetica, Cătălina Stan -BDR Associates, Monica Tatoiu - Oriflame, Doris Carmen Andronescu - Sanador, Irina Socol - SIVECO Romania, Maria Grapini - Pasmatex, Mihaela Nicola - The Group) have contributed to editing and printing a calendar. With the money resulted from the auction of this calendar, the Club has decided to finance the business of young entrepreneurs in 2010.

The ‘March token prize’ went to Sânziana Năstase and Eva Strat who have drafted the plan for a shoe business, named Pixie Shoes.

How do we improve the school curricula?Within the partnership with the Romanian Academic Society, one of the most powerful voices of the civil society in Romania, we have promoted the ideas of freedom, democracy and good governance in Eastern Europe. Practically, within a project dedicated to curricular reform, together with SAR, we have elaborated a project to reform the Romanian educational system, a basis for reforming the entire Romanian society.

We all agree that the curricula have to be improved, that pupils need to be helped to develop the skills they will find useful on the labor market, that teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry has to be based on visual and intuitive representations and not on excessive formalization and abstraction. All these ideas are included in the report “School’s exit from mediocrity – How do we define the key competences and the challenges of modifying the school curricula", carried out by the Romanian Academic Society, along with its partners and support from SIVECO Romania.

The report proposes to the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport a high performing education system that would deliver the competences necessary for the development of society as a whole and for fostering the pupils individual skills.

Our efforts have been rewarded during 2010 with a few very important awards:

In 2010 we have launched the report Communication on Progress based on the Global Reporting Initiative Indicators (GRI) – 10 Principles of the United Nations Organization.

Global Compact is an initiative of the UN Secretary General of creating a partnership between the United Nations and companies, to achieve sustainable development at global level. The program has become operational in July 2000.

Global Compact is a network formed of UN agencies, companies, trade union organizations, business organizations, academic organizations, civil society organizations, governmental or admini-strative institutions. Global Compact acts as a guide for the companies focused on CSR.

The program presents the guidelines that are subject to a set of 10 universal principles, divided into four fields of interest.

Since 2010, SIVECO Romania is integrating the 10 Principles of the United Nations Organization into the social responsibility policy. For our company, business ethics is the foundation on which we build relations with our customers, partners and employees and represents at the same time, a strong competitive advantage. A business sustainable on the long term cannot develop unless it starts from healthy principles, consistently implemented, day in, day out.

The quality of inter-human relations among all the interested groups represents a priority for our company. From this point of view, we consider it is extremely important, in the interest of our shareholders, employees, partners and customers, of the community in which we are active, that the company management should be a model of ethical business behavior.

"In all we have been undertaking for the past 19 years, we follow compliance with the code of professional ethics and with the rule of professional behavior set through the company procedures and we ensure at the same time that our management is high performing, transparent and flexible. All the decisions we make, take into account the impact they are going to have upon the employees, shareholders, customers or community.

Acceding to the Global Pact is an important commitment for our company. The decision to formalize an annual report, in the manner in which we do respect the ethic principles assumed at global level by the business world, gives us the possibility to review and adapt the policy referring to employees, environment, community, but also to monitor the progress we have made. This commitment along with the annual elaboration of the social responsibility report, represent almost unique initiatives in the Romanian business environment. Therefore, it is a great joy and honor for me to announce carrying out our first Communication Report regarding the implementation of the 10 Principles of the United Nations Organization within SIVECO Romania."
