    The Air Force Association works to educatethe public about thecritical role of aerospace power in the defense of our nation.

    AFA educates the public on key issues surrounding the U.S.Air Force, airpower, and national defense with publications

    such as the award-winning Air ForceMagazine and itsonline counterpart www.airforce-magazine.com, whichprovides the electronic news brief Daily Report, reachingmore than 130,000 readers worldwide daily.

    AFA hosts professional development opportunitiesthroughout the year. The national conferences and symposia

    offer high prole speakers, workshops, state-of-the artexhibit oors, and presentations by top Air Force andnational defense leaders.

    AFA produces thought-provoking publications through itspublic policy and research arm, the Mitchell Institute for

    Airpower Studies. The Mitchell Institute is a world classaerospace power think tank that produces policy studiesdedicated to expanding airpower thinking, increasing public

    awareness, and contributing to the national security debate.

    CyberPatriot, the national high school cyber defense

    competition, is a cuttingedge AFA initiative created topromote student interest in cyber security and other Science,Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careerelds.

    AFA has a long history of advocacy beginning with the

    establishment of an independent Air Force in 1947.

    The Air Force Association supportsthe United States Air

    Force, the Air Force family, and aerospace education.

    AFA provides more than $1.5 million annually in

    scholarships, grants, and awards; the educational

    programs and scholarships encourage Air Force

    members to continue their education; AFA provides

    funds to Air Force spouses working toward an

    academic degree, and it administers grants for

    programs promoting math and science skills among

    young people.

    Each year AFA honors the outstanding achievements

    of men and women across the U.S. Air Force,

    government, academia, and the aerospace industry

    through AFAs National Aerospace Awards Program.

    In an ongoing effort to encourage a competitive

    industrial base for our national defense, AFA partners

    with government, industry, and grassroots networks to

    promote STEM education.

    AFA was instrumental in building the magnicent

    United States Air Force Memorial, and continues to
