Attention Alabama Taxpayers

Individuals AND Businesses

As you review your Alabama taxes this season, please consider planning for your 2018 Scholarships for Kids contribution to help St. Ann School. The Alabama Accountability Act allows dollar-for-dollar state income tax credits for tax dollars redirected to approved SGOs (which also qualify as 501(c)3 organizations).

Please go to www.scholarshipsforkids.org for a step-by-step guide on how to take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity for Alabama taxpayers and St. Ann School.

It only takes three easy steps to receive your tax credit and help St. Ann School.

Make quarterly estimated tax payments? Contribute quarterly. Part of your quarterly payments will be offset when they are redirected to SFK.

For more information, please consult your tax advisor and www.scholarshipsforkids.org. Parishioners Scott Brown or Anne Werling are willing to discuss the program with you.

The Parish Book Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month,

which will be Thursday, Mar. 8th, this month

at Java Jaays at 10:30 AM.

Read a good book and share it with us on Mar. 8th at 10:30 AM at Java Jaays. See you then!

Saint Ann School

Annual Appeal 2018 To have the opportunity to attend a Catholic school is a privilege we are proud to offer at Annunciation of the Lord parish. We are hopeful and excited about the opportunities and challenges before us. To fund the necessary teaching units, ongoing programs, and up-to-date technology used to facilitate competitive education, I invite your support. In order to provide the students, staff, and faculty of St. Ann Catholic School with the best opportunities to succeed, we are asking you to join with us in the St. Ann School Annual Appeal campaign in reaching our goal to raise $80,000 this year. Please prayerfully consider giving a gift to this worthy ministry. There will be opportunities for matching gifts. Every gift given to the school supports our commission to proclaim the good news with joy. Let’s pull together once again as our parish always has to meet this challenge for the benefit of our children. Whatever amount you choose to give will be a blessing to the school. Your gift to St. Ann Catholic School is tax deductible. Please make all checks payable to St. Ann’s Educational Foundation. Funds given to this collection will qualify for St. Ann Society Circle acknowledgement. We have collected $16,117 as of Feb. 18

Alliance of the Two Hearts

Vigil

Communion of Reparation

Vigilia de los Dos

Corazones

Comunión de Reparación

On December 22, 2016 Bishop Baker wrote a letter to the priests of our diocese that included the following:

In these times of uncertainties and in my desire to bring the families in our diocese closer to Jesus through Mary, I have approved the Alliance of the Two Hearts devotional practice of holding in the parish, the first Friday - first Saturday Communion of Reparation vigil every month to atone for the sins associated with (as called by St. John Paul II) the “Culture of Death.” That is, sins committed against the unborn and especially sins against the sanctity of family life in general.

On April 7, 2017 Annunciation of the Lord Parish began this devotional practice and has continued. Please join us this Friday or any first Friday in this important mission that has brought so much good in the sanctification of family life. See more information below.

Stewardship

“’Here I am!’ Abraham answered.” It is easy to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when we are in a religious experience. But how easy is it when a neighbor needs our help, when we are invited to join a parish ministry, or when we are asked to provide financial support? Discipleship is not always easy.
