Anshan has long enjoyed the fame of “Steel Capital” of China, with

about 1/4 iron ore reserves of China and an annual sales revenue

of steel products of over 300 billion Yuan RMB.

Anshan is also the largest base of magnesite industry of China,

with about 1/4 magnesite reserves of the world and annual sales

revenue of new magnesite materials of over 100 billion Yuan RMB.

Anshan is the largest base of jade industry of China, with about

60% of explored world jade reserves.

An outstanding tourist city

The unique Jade Buddha Sculpture is carved from

“the King of Jade” of over 260 tons. It was put

into the Guinness Book of World Record.

Tanggangzi Hot Spring, which has been famous in

Asia, is one of China’s four recuperation centers.

The natural hot mineral mud in Tanggangzi is

recognized as the best of its type in Asia.

An outstanding tourist city

Mt. Qianshan is a renowned national scenic spot. It

hosts Buddhists and Taoists in the same mountain

and has long become a place for pilgrimage. The

naturally shaped Maitreya Buddha in Mt. Qianshan

enjoys widespread fame both at home and abroad.

And Xiuyan, as “Jade Capital of China”, is the

largest domestic jade production base and

distribution center of jade handicrafts.

Industrial Structure

Anshan was established and has been

flourishing due to steel industry, with profound

industrial foundation.

Through the development of several decades,

an industrial system combining traditional

sectors like steel deep processing, equipment

manufacturing, new magnesite materials,

textile & garments, and emerging sectors like

laser, high-end valves, fine chemicals and new

There’s a very promising prospect for laser

application with strong market demand. In

November, 2011, Liaoning Provincial Government

decided to set up Liaoning Laser Science &

Technology Industry Park in Anshan New & Hi-tech

Development Zone.

The Laser Park is planned to cover 36.77 km2, focusing on

laser processing, laser application, high-end laser equipment

development, international cooperation-led domestic

invention, to concentrate on the development of 4 industrial

sections, namely, laser communication, laser machining,

laser medicare and photo-mechanical-electrical integration,

forming complete connection of the full industry chain from

laser materials, laser components & devices and

laser equipment packages to laser application.

We plan to spend 3-5 years to bring in 300 projects with an investment of about 20 billion Yuan RMB and accomplish a sales revenue of about 30 billion Yuan.

Up to now construction of buildings of 500,000 m2 for R & D center and standard workshop have been finished, hosting 154 laser enterprises with 306 projects under construction or promotion and an investment of 21 billion Yuan.

Innovation platform for the Laser Park

The Laser Park enjoys rich resources of talents.

With University of Science & Technology Liaoning nearby,

we have invited over 10 China’s first class universities to

establish national level laser technology R & D center.

Through industry-university-research collaboration, 10 key labs and

engineering technology centers have been founded in universities

and enterprises to elevate innovation ability of enterprises.

Support from governments

Liaoning Provincial Government advocates to combining

power of the whole province to develop Liaoning Laser

Science & Technology Industry Park and has been investing

special funds of 100 million Yuan each year for the past

consecutive 3 years to back up the development of laser

industry in Anshan.

Municipality unveiled preferential policy containing 18

articles, covering land space, scientific & technological

innovation, production & operation, high-end

personnel introduction, investment and financing

environment, to provide enterprises with most

Support from governments

A specific fund of 1 billion Yuan has been raised for laser industry

development to support enterprises settled in the Laser Park for

infrastructure construction and new product development. Another

100 million Yuan seed fund for innovation and business startup is

set up to support the commercialization of enterprise scientific &

technical achievements.
