Planning Tool – fire safety and security solutions for data centers
Point type fire detectors FirePrint and ASAtechnology™ offers unsurpassed
detection reliability with high immunity to false alarms. Our advanced detection technology is so reliable that it comes with a “No False Alarm” guarantee.
6
Video surveillance The video surveillance system monitors critical
zones such as the entrance area etc. to record incidents before and after an event. Our security systems leverage IP based technology and power over Ethernet for easy and seamless interfacing in to the IT infrastructure.
2 Intrusion detection Detection of unauthorized access is critical to the
business mission of a data center. Siemens offers a complete range of devices for each kind of risk and application. The complete solution can include for example: protection against flooding, where a special flood detector enables the alarm system to detect water leaks.
4
Alarm indicatorsIf a fire detector that is not easily visible triggers an alarm, an alarm indicator will quickly identify the area in danger.
8
Emergency Voice System The FireFinder XLSV is a full feature life safety
system with advanced fire detection, sound and voice evacuation features that are critical in providing clear instructions to building occupants.
10
Releasing control panels The FireFinder XLS and Desigo control panels
combine fire detection with automatic suppression (Clean Agent, Single and Double interlock Pre-Action Sprinkler, Deluge).
7
Access control The access control system provides safe and
flexible access authorization, time recording, and badge issuing. Many technologies are employed to ensure a solution that is tailored to the customer’s needs.
3
Pull, abort & release stations Manual pull stations, abort stations and manual
release stations allow building occupants to provide local input to the life safety system. The local inputs can be used when a manual system alarm, agent release abort and manual agent release are required.

Suppression with Sinorix 227 Sinorix 227 is an automatic, waterless suppression
solution used to protect any organization’s most vital assets. The clean agent for the Sinorix Fire Suppression System uses HFC227ea. HFC227ea (Model CPY-227) is a clean agent that suppresses fire at low concentrations. Since it is electrically non-conductive, Model CPY-227 is safe for electric and electronic equipment.
11
Suppression with Sinorix 1230 Sinorix 1230 is an automatic, waterless suppression
solution used to protect any organization’s most vital assets. This clean agent uses the Novec™ 1230 fire protection fluid. Sinorix 1230 suppresses fire at low concentrations, it is non conductive and safe for electronic equipment. A zero ozone layer depletion factor means Sinorix 1230 is environmentally friendly.
12
Horns, speakers, strobes In a data center, occupants are notified of a fire
audibly and visually using horns, speakers or strobes. Occupants can also be notified audibly and visually of a pending discharge.
9
Aspirating smoke detection Provides a highly sensitive system for the earliest
possible fire detection in highly ventilated data centers minimizing the risk of fire damage. It is typically applied in closed server racks, false floors, ceilings, cable ducts, air inputs and outputs.
5
Fire control panels The Siemens FireFinder™ XLS and Desigo™ fire
alarm control panels convert fire alarms into actions for alarm notification, evacuation and suppression. Thanks to the simple user interface, users can check the system status quickly and take the appropriate actions.

Planning Tool – fire safety and security solutions for data centers
Data centers are critical and the heart of many companies’ information infrastructures. No company can allow the failure of its networks and servers because no business can afford downtime or the loss of irreplaceable data and market presence. For some industries, even one or two hours of downtime can be devastating. That is why it is important to provide your data center with the highest level of safety.
Our fire safety and security solutions are tailored exactly to your data center’s requirements. They offer you maximum safety against fire and security risks while helping to ensure uptime and availability of service. Based on the concept of a single, innovative partner, we provide everything including fire detection, security and extinguishing. We also provide expert system design, installation and after-sales service.

Integrated and innovative safetyIdentifying and preventing risks Data centers face many challenges – from managing complexity to improving energy efficiency and meeting safety, security and business regulatory requirements. The risk of fire is particularly high due to the presence of a constant ignition source (electricity) and a plentiful supply of combustible materials. Short circuits, due to the extensive cabling, can have serious consequences. The need for comprehensive air cooling results in a higher air exchange making early detection even more challenging. An integrated fire safety concept is therefore crucial to protect critical data and help ensure uptime.
Integrated concept for more safetyAnalyses show that the no. 1 cause offire safety system failure is the interface between detection, alarming, control, and extinguishing. Early and reliable fire detection and the initiation of appropriate extinguishing measures are critical factors in an effective protection concept. Our comprehensive, one-stop fire safety solutions ensure a perfect interaction of fire detection, evacuation, and extinguishing.
We take care of your system throughout its life cycle, including risk analysis, project management, choosing the right systems and offering the best service concept. For an overall secure and energy-efficient data center, our integral concept also includes video surveillance, intrusion detection, and access control as well as building automation and energy management systems. All integrated and controlled by one management station.
Unique safety technologyOur solutions offer you the benefits of advanced technologies like state-of-the-art fire detectors with a “No False Alarm” guarantee and aspirating smoke detection (ASD) for earliest possible warning.
Rely on an experienced partnerWith more than 160 years of experience in fire safety, we understand your specific requirements in terms of prevention, detection, response, and recovery. Our tailored solutions and services comply with the highest safety standards, and incorporate products and systems that meet industry-specific requirements and regulations like UL, FM, ULC, VdS and LPCB.
