It is almost ANZAC Day again and the Wagga RSL is gearing up for yet another busy day. May we all take the time to reflect in an appropriate manner, whether this by attending the dawn service, enjoying a drink with mates or spending some quality time with your families.

ANZAC Day is the day on which we remember Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirirt of ANZAC, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. The Wagga RSL Club welcomes you to share this momentous day with your family and friends at our club.

5.30am Dawn Service (conducted by Legacy) Held at the Cenotaph

6.45am War Cemetary Service Held at the Wagga War Cemetary (Kooringal Road)

7.00am Breakfast Buffet style breakfast at the Wagga RSL Club, which includes rum and milk with Wagga Men's Choir singing songs of the past. Cost only $10 per person

10.00am Marchers Assemble Meet at the corner of Baylis and Morgan Streets.

10.30am ANZAC March March commences with procession moving down Baylis Street to the Cenotaph, followed by a wreath laying service.

11.15am Commemorative Service Held in the Victory Memorial Gardens Occasional address by Group Captain Ross Jones Air Force (Commandant RAAF College Wagga)

12.30pm ANZAC Day Lunch Held at the Wagga RSL Club Cost is $15 per person for RSL Sub-Branch members or $30 per person for non-members Cost includes lunch, beer, wine and soft drinks. Tickets available from the RSL Sub-Branch office at 26 Dobbs Street Wagga

1.00pm ANZAC Day AFL/NRL Gates to the ANZAC commemmorative football games open at Robertson Oval Cost of entry is a gold coin donation

5.30pm Sunset Service Held at the RSL Club Centenary Memorial, located at the front of the RSL Club The Sunset Service was very moving and well received last year and we look forward to it being well attended again this year

What do you love to do in your spare time? Grandkids, holidays, working on my small farm, sport, I enjoy most activities.

What is your favourite movie of all time? None in particular, as I enjoy most movies although I do avoid tearjerker movies.

If you could change one thing in this world what would it be? I would like everybody to calm down a little and enjoy life. There is so much aggression going on.

What is your favourite holiday destination? Europe for history and Asia to relax.

What do you hope to achieve as a Director of our Clubs? As times change, we need to be continually updating our club. To do this we need to supply the best service across both clubs so we are competitive and profitable. I hope as part of the board that I can provide input to achieve our future goals.

"HONOUR OUR HEROES" SUPPORT OUR VETS IN NEEDThe first annual "Honour Our Heroes" Relay Walk is being held in Sydney's West on the 1st of May. The Relay Walk is to honour the bravery and sacrifice of the 42 Aussie soldiers who gave their lives for our nation in service in Afghanistan.

A full day's entertainment and activities will be provided for the whole family whilst team members each complete their leg of the Relay. There will be food stalls, information booths, children's activities, live music and a family fun day in the park.

Join a team or register as an individual participant and encourage your family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to make a donation to support your efforts!

Clubs, companies, community organisations and members of the public can all register to walk and form a team for the day. The Relay Walk comprises of fourteen circuits within Parramatta Park, each circuit being 3kms long - a total of 42kms over the day!

There's Stewie Koala, Locky Cocky, Spike Echidna, Ellie Emu, Pippy The Mountain Pygmy Possum, Willy Wombat, Suzie Roo, Radical Rat, and along with Breanna the gum tree, they help address important topics and issues such as bullying, making new friends, helping others when in need, building a healthy self esteem and encouraging respect and empathy for all.

FUN AND GAMES IN OUR KIDS CLUBS Wagga RSL Kids Club - Open all day with parents supervision or fully supervised by staff from 6pm to 10pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday This great space for the kids is fully equipped with Playstation, Xbox and many other games to keep them entertained for hours. Parents can enjoy a quiet coffee while the children entertain themselves. Be sure to take advantage of this great facility, the kids will be sure to love it!

Commercial Club Kids Club - Open all day with parents supervision The Kids Club is a friendly and safe environment for the kids to hang out while you enjoy a coffee or wine with friends. The giant chalk board is popular and the board games are always a hit. All that we ask is that you keep an eye on your little ones by sitting in a location close by.

KIDS EAT FREE AT YOUR CLUBS Treat your family to a delicious meal at the Commercial Club on Monday or Tuesday nights and take advantage of our great 'Kids Eat Free' deal. Children 12 years and under will receive a free kids meal with any adult main purchased. Our kids meals include a roast of the day, steak and vegetables, pasta of the day, fish and chips and more. All kids meals include an activity bag and an icecream. Limit one kids meal per paying adult.

New to the RSL is 'Kids Eat Free' on Wednesdays.
