Our school memorial is a very important symbol of all of those people who fought and died in the two world wars. The memorial was made by hand and the students would pay a penny for a brick to make it. At the time you were not allowed to make memorials because it would make people remember those who died so people wouldn't join the army to fight. Students built the memorial by hand. We know because Jim Dunk, a local resident, was looking after George Main, a 102 year old man who remembered laying one of the bricks.

THE SCHOOL MEMORIAL

The school memorial was made to remember the old scholars that fought or died in the war .we think that Joseph Kennedy got the idea when his son got injured in world war I. his son then went to a hospital where he met his sister, daisy who looked after him when he was in hospital. The principal then was Joseph Kennedy and the school was called Norwood public school because it was a primary school and high school at the same time.

WHY IT WAS MADE
