“A Heritage to Remember, A Future to Mold” Established 1924 OCTOBER & NOVEMBER 2013 Mayor’s Message First, let us not forget the tragedy and victims of September 11, 2001 and more recently the victims of the Washington Navy Yard tragedy on September 16, 2013. I hope that one day we can just love and help each other. This world would be a better place. We have been working hard through the summer for better communi- cation for us (Mayor and Council) to our citizens. The new software, phone tree, is in place. Calls and reminders have been sent to citizens whose numbers we do have. This way of communication is important not only for reminder messages about organizational meetings but will be used in case of emergency. If you have not been called, we do not have your contact information. One way of making sure that you are in that da- tabase is to fill out the Emergency Response Survey in this newsletter and return it to the office. We have also upgraded our website. Take a look at www.northbrentwood.com . You will find the Emergency Response Surveys online and also the Action Form to fill out if you see some areas in the town that need special attention. Both forms you can fill out email or use regular mail to our office. The town also recently purchased the vacant lot located next to Baby Dees. The address is 4510 41 st Avenue. We feel that this is a good investment. We will be looking at another property also. The new recycling bins have been distributed to each household. THESE BINS ARE FOR RECYCLING…DO NOT PUT TRASH IN THEM! If you recycle, you will not have much trash. Take care of your bins, if you need a replacement there will be a $50.00 charge. C’mon North Brentwood, we can be the recycling kings and queens. In addition, remember that recy- cling is only on Fridays. Bulk heavy pickup is only on Tuesdays and regular trash days are Monday and Friday. Do not put out more than four (4) items for heavy pickup day (Tuesday). DO NOT PUT OUT BULK ITEMS ANY OTHER DAY BUT TUESDAY. I also hope that you have met our new code enforcement officer, Freddie Glass. He has great expertise in this area. Help him to help North Brent- wood stay a livable community. It has been a tough year for me already, but I am so pleased to have a sup- portive community. Thank you for your continued prayers and guidance. See you at the meetings! Petrella Robinson

OCTOBER & NOVEMBER 2013

Mayor’s Message

First, let us not forget the tragedy and victims of September 11, 2001

and more recently the victims of the Washington Navy Yard tragedy

on September 16, 2013. I hope that one day we can just love and help

each other. This world would be a better place.

We have been working hard through the summer for better communi-cation for us (Mayor and Council) to our citizens. The new software, phone tree, is in place. Calls and reminders have been sent to citizens whose numbers we do have. This way of communication is important not only for reminder messages about organizational meetings but will be used in case of emergency. If you have not been called, we do not have your contact information. One way of making sure that you are in that da-tabase is to fill out the Emergency Response Survey in this newsletter and return it to the office. We have also upgraded our website. Take a look at www.northbrentwood.com. You will find the Emergency Response Surveys online and also the Action Form to fill out if you see some areas in the town that need special attention. Both forms you can fill out email or use regular mail to our office. The town also recently purchased the vacant lot located next to Baby Dees. The address is 4510 41st Avenue. We feel that this is a good investment. We will be looking at another property also.

The new recycling bins have been distributed to each household. THESE

BINS ARE FOR RECYCLING…DO NOT PUT TRASH IN THEM! If

you recycle, you will not have much trash. Take care of your bins, if you

need a replacement there will be a $50.00 charge. C’mon North Brentwood,

we can be the recycling kings and queens. In addition, remember that recy-

cling is only on Fridays. Bulk heavy pickup is only on Tuesdays and regular

trash days are Monday and Friday. Do not put out more than four (4)

items for heavy pickup day (Tuesday). DO NOT PUT OUT BULK

ITEMS ANY OTHER DAY BUT TUESDAY.

I also hope that you have met our new code enforcement officer, Freddie

Glass. He has great expertise in this area. Help him to help North Brent-

wood stay a livable community.

It has been a tough year for me already, but I am so pleased to have a sup-

portive community. Thank you for your continued prayers and guidance.

See you at the meetings!
